Quodpot is a variant of Quidditch (a magical sport played on broomsticks) invented in America by Abraham Peasegood in the eighteenth century. Highly popular in America, Quodpot is only mildly successful in Europe as a secondary sport.[1]

[edit] History
Allegedly the sport was created when Abraham brought a Quaffle with him when he immigrated to America from his old country. It's believed that while travelling to America the tip of his wand touched the Quaffle he was bringing along with him. Once settled down, he and his friends decided to pass around the quaffle- at which point it exploded in his face and the sport of Quodpot was invented.
[edit] Rules
Like Quidditch, Quodpot is played by two teams of 11 people. The 22 players fly around the pitch, passing the Quod back and forth. The goal is to get the Quod into 'the pot' before it explodes to earn one point. Once the Quod is thrown into the pot, it becomes decommissioned, and a new Quod is brought onto the field. If the Quod exploded before reaching the pot, while in a players hands, that player is immediately disbanded from the pitch.

The Quod is a magically enchanted leather ball that has been charmed to explode at random. The design of the Quod is based on the Quaffle.
