Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 BC is a family-owned wand shop located in Diagon Alley. The proprietor of the shop is Mr Garrick Ollivander.
It is described as narrow and shabby with peeling gold letters over the door and a dusty window display showcasing a single wand on a faded purple cushion. The interior is tiny, furnished with a single spindly chair and thousands of narrow boxes piled neatly all the way to the ceiling.
Customers are measured thoroughly with a tape measure with silver markings, and is presented various wands that Mr Ollivander might find fitting, until one chooses the customer. (In the case of Harry Potter this was by shooting red and gold sparks from the end.) The wand is then packed back into its box and wrapped in brown paper, and the wand is paid for. The price range is around seven Galleons.
