Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter

Harry James Potter, born 31st July 1980, is the son of James and Lily Potter. Harry is a half-blood, having a pure-blood father and a muggle-born mother.

Harry became an orphan at the age of one when the dark wizard Lord Voldemort murdered his parents. It was also Voldemort's intention to kill Harry himself, but the Killing Curse backfired on its caster, reducing Voldemort to mere spirit, but leaving Harry with only a scar on his forehead in the shape of a lightning bolt. Being the only known person to ever have survived the Killing Curse, Harry instantly becomes famous in the wizarding world, but he remains oblivious of this, and of the existence and of the wizarding community, until the age of 11.

At the age of 11 Harry attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and is sorted into Gryffindor house. He also befriends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and they remain close for life.

Later in life Harry marries Ginny Weasley, and they have three children.

Characterisation

Name

Outward appearance

In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry is described as being small and skinny for his age, with round glasses. "Harry had a thin face, knobbly knees, black hair, and bright green eyes."[1] Harry is often described by others as looking very much like his father, James, except that he has his mother's eyes. Harry also has a notable lightning-shaped scar on his forehead, left over from the night when his parents were killed and Voldemort's attempt to kill Harry backfired.

Personality

Depending on how often the character is in the books, maybe 1-5 paragraphs here.

Magical accomplishments and skills

Possessions

Wand

Holly wood and phoenix feather core, 11 inches, nice and supple. The core is a tailfeather[2] from Fawkes, Dumbledore's pet phoenix, whose only other given feather was used in the wand that would become Lord Voldemort's.

Broomstick

A Nimbus 2000 from 1991-1993, bought as a result of Harry joining the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. It was destroyed by the Whomping Willow in 1993. He was then, in replacement, sent a Firebolt by his godfather Sirius Black, although the sender was unknown until the summer of 1994.

Pets

Hedwig, Harry's snowy owl, given to him as an 11th birthday present from Rubeus Hagrid on his first trip to Diagon Alley in the summer of 1991.

Other

Family

Harry Potter is the son of James Potter, a pure-blood wizard, and Lily Evans, a muggle-born witch, Harry therefore being half-blood. Both Lily and James died in 1981, leaving Harry to live with his mother's sister, his aunt Petunia, her husband Vernon Dursley, and their son, Harry's cousin Dudley Dursley.

Lily's parents died prematurely, and his paternal grandparents were elderly even by wizarding standards when they had James, thus leaving the Dursleys as Harry's only living family.

Harry is related to Ignotus Peverell on his father's side.

Harry has been forced to call Uncle Vernon's sister, Marge Dursley, "Aunt Marge" although they aren't related by blood.

Harry Potter eventually married Ginny Weasley and together they had three children, James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter, and Lily Luna Potter.

Reception

Depending on how important the character, maybe 0-3 paragraphs here.
