Creaothceann is broom sport that was invented in Scotland. It was highly popular during the Middle Ages, because it was considered by Scottish wizards as the highest demonstration of manliness and courage. The Ministry of Magic delegalized the sport in 1792. In 1960s Magnus 'Dent-Head' Macdonald lead a campaign to legalize it again but the Ministry of Magic, rightly, refused to.
In Creaothceann 25 wizards strap a cauldron to their heads and then mount their brooms. Upon the horn (sometimes drum beat) the players zoom into the air while the previously hovering rocks and boulders are once again taken by gravity. The winner of the match is the wizard who manages to catch the most rock in his cauldron.
