Walters, Bonham Carter, Gleeson, Staunton, and More Nominated for BAFTA TV Awards

The nominations for the 2010 Philips British Academy Television Awards have been released, and contain a slew of nominations for actors from the Harry Potter series. First, actresses Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix) and Julie Walters (Mrs. Weasley) have been nominated in the Best Actress category; Mrs. Bonham Carter for her work in “Enid” and Mrs. Walters for both “Mo” and ” A Short Stay In Switzerland.” Next, in the running for the Best Actor award this year, Brendan Gleeson (Moody) has been nominated for “Into the Storm,” alongside Kenneth Branagh (Lockhart) for “Wallander” and John Hurt (Ollivander) for “An Englishman in New York.”
Meanwhile, Imelda Staunton (Umbrdige) received a Supporting Actress nod for “Cranford,” UK Harry Potter audiobook narrator Stephen Fry was nominated for Entertainment Performance for this popular quiz show “QI.”
The BAFTA TV Awards will be handed out on June 6 on BBC1.
