Lady Hawke I hope that you both have a really enjoyable choir camp experience. My DS always comes back renewed after his long weekend ukulele camps.

I guess I have forgotten to post. I have been doing some outside yard work trying to repair damage done by the storms. Since it has been cloudy and not too hot I have been trying to get it done. I want to buy a new weed eater that will use prestrung spools and will string automatically. Maybe with this one I can get the weeds cut down. I did not go get it over the weekend because all my family were gone camping. I always think about who would I call if I had trouble with everyone gone. My son=in=law is going to bring my chain saw over and cut down the limbs that are barely hanging over my roof. I need to get a new outside light but will wait until the one I have is checked out. It may be just the bulb blown or one of the electric wires are loose.

This morning I swept my front porch. I also took things that were my daughters and stored them away some place else. I kept thinking she was coming to get them. She did but only got her cooler. She left everything else. I need to buy some new cushions for my chair and swing. Well it is not a swing but a glider. As soon as I buy a new soft brush, I am going to wash the walls under the porch. Doing that and getting the weeds cut down around the fense will greatly improve the curb apeal.

Master Lew You are being smart to postpone a honeymoon in order to buy a house. You can go on vacation another time.

Lady Hawke Hope you enjoy your camp. I was sorry to see that there was no trible crown champion. It looked like one of the owners was a sore loser.

Graymayne Sorry I forgot to post. Sometimes when I post on Facebook I forget that I have not posted here. I go to Facebook to see what my family is doing. It is funny but of the old timers that were here before me, I only remember Twin1 and Twin 2 HP names. I am friends with other “old timers” but I now know their real names so have a hard time remembering their HP names. It is a good thing that I remember they are from our HP friends. L0l Of course I still remember most of the ones who were here when I started.

I need to find something to eat. I think I have steak left over. I cleaned my grill and grilled steak, had corn on the cob, baked potatoe, and salad over the weekend. I think I will fix another salad and eat the steak cold. I do like to eat left over steak and salad this way.

Update: after getting several tests done it was determined I did not have appendicitis. I have fibroids in my uterus and an infection in an ovary. :(. Pianful little suckers. So I am extremely grateful I do not need surgery.

Deanie is OK, as far as we know she waiting until her appointment next month to get the next step in her implants. He dentist seems to think everything is good to go. To those of you who are more computer literate than I am we got new computers with windows 8 and I am really struggling with it. Everything is so different I feel completely lost.

Mr. Deanie Look up books like Windows for Dummies 8.1 on Amazon, currently on offer at a reduced price. They tend to be very useful for the less technically minded of us.

MM Very pleased to hear that you don’t have appendicitis. Presumably the pain was coming from the infected ovary and it can be treated with antibiotics?

CoolG I am just glad to hear that the storm you mentioned did not affect you horribly. Take things steadily with your house maintenance.

Enjoying my fourth read of A Discovery of Witches; the plot is pretty dense with details and characters and re-reading it just helps to sort out the intricate bits. It was much the same when re-reading HP.

Mr. Deanie: What was your old operating system?. I went from vista to 7 to 8 and now have 8.1.
The change from 7 to 8 was the hardest by far. Now that I am used to 8.1 I love it. Going from 8 to
8.1 was very easy. find or search “getting started with windows 8”. this is a pre loaded app that comes
with the O.S. It is very helpful.

Am currently reading vol.2 of the R.A. Heinlein biography by William H. Patterson JR. , it just came out last week
on kindle. Vol. 1 was out in 2010. A must if you are a Heinlein fan.

I am in an Internet desert but have found a tiny wispy oasis of a signal. It is in the back corner of the rehearsal hall. Unfortunately, there is not a breath of signal in the cabin.

MM, I’m glad it wasn’t you appendix but I understand what you do have is very painful. I’m so sorry.

COOLG, in principal I agree with the point the disappointed horse owner made about the rules but he should not have accused the owner of the winning horse for doing anything unethical. They were allowed to enter the race under the current rules. The current rules are not reasonable and should be changed. The horses that have been in the chase since the Kentucky Derby are attempting a Herculean task of running three very grueling races in five weeks. In the best of circumstances it is almost impossible for one horse to win all three but when people are allowed to enter fresh horses who haven’t raced in months it makes the possibility of a Triple Crown winner impossible. The new fresh horses are just spoilers running against a pack of worn out horses.

Ironsos the computer I was using had windows XP. the reason we changed was because they no longer supported it and the hackers were attacking it regularly. I had to run an antivirus almost ever day. I will check out the books and the site you told me about. The thing I miss most is finding my E-Mail friends and other contacts for my scrollsaw friends and supplies.

Good evening!

I’ve been back at work for two days, and it always feels like forever, lol. I’m also working overtime on both Friday and Saturday.

I had a lovely week off. I snuggled on the settee and read a lot of books. I also had a lovely day out with my sister.

Hugs for everyone!

Morning

I need to get a new outdoor light. Since none are the plug in type, I will have to use an extention cord wired in direct to the light. The storm knocked out my normal outdoor security light. I can not ask anyone to change it right now because I think the tree it is in is covered with poison ivy. It is just too dark not to have a security light.

It is raining every day. You would think it is April instead of June.

Good evening!

Sports Day for daughter tomorrow. She is running the 600 metres. I am not going this year. She has a special Leaving Assembly next month, and I am saving my time owing so I can hopefully go to that.
Son’s last exam was yesterday, so he is spending the rest of the week relaxing.

CoolG We seem to be having more rain than is expected in “flaming June”.

Asti I find the idea of your fairy-like daughter running a 600 metre race rather boggling. I have never been the athletic type even though I was never overweight until my early thirties.

Won – I love futuristic films and I wondered if Tom Cruise’s movie was a good one to spend my money on. I may give it a go. :)

Well the DS and I have decided to give the main floor a face lift. We are painting the living room a neutral color of grey and the dining room too. We are varnishing the wood floors and buying new furniture and drapes. I have been basically cleaning around the DS because he won’t let me paint or strain myself. :/

It is looking pretty good.

MM That sounds like a good project.

Asti I hope your daughter does well in the race. I have been walking to get myself ready to do a 5K with my daughters. I will mostly do walking instead of running. LoL

Today I got my walking in by carring tree limbs to a brush pile. Jennifer and her friend came by this morning and cut down the tree that half of it was down by the storm. That was one side of my house. Luckily another tree next to it took most of the weight so it did not knock a hole in the roof. Jennifer went up on the roof and used one of those limb cutters to cut the limb down on the other side of the house. She also cut all the limbs that were close to my roof and sweep all the leaves etc. off the roof. While she was on the roof , she uncrewed the outside security light bulb so I can get a new one to replace the one that blew out. Have I ever told you that Jennifer was the daughter that always helped her Dad or myself with projects? That is why she knows how to do things both outside and inside. Becky was the one who would cook dinner for us while we were working outside. Beth was the one who managed to get out of doing anything. Of course that changed when she was the only one left at home. That is when she learned to cook and help with outside work. She is such a good cook now that we all go to her house for family dinners.

Good evening!

My daughter came second in her race……………out of two!!! I have no idea why there were only the two of them, but daughter says it was a close race, she was just out sprinted at the end. She really enjoyed herself, and came home tired, hot and hoarse from cheering on her friends.

The TV is going to be showing nothing but football for the foreseeable future. I am grateful that I have a huge pile of books, both real and Kindled, thanks to my birthday vouchers, and that most of the England’s games start late in the evening! Unfortunately that means I will have a tired and grumpy DS and son!!!

Ironsos That’s handy! Now you won’t have to look down in the mouth, lol.

We had a beautiful day, wall to wall sunshine with lots of blue sky with a few decorative white clouds here and there. We took ourselves off to enjoy the evening sunshine and drove to a hilltop in the county with a remarkable view of a green, fertile valley with the Malvern Hills in the distance. There is a viewing car park and quite close at at hand a fish and chip shop, so we took in the scenery as we ate. The conditions were ideal because it was clear to the horizon, not a common occurence, and just before we left the full moon rose, so that was perfect for the drive home.

Graymayne, that sounds like a lovely, lovely evening. I usually have a really pleasant view of the sky from the sofa, but it has unfortunately been obscured by a large England flag that my DS has seen fit to hang out of the window.
