Good evening!

Today was successful. I wrapped the stocking gifts, and son’s presents. I did some washing, shopped for the next few days, practised piano, cooked…!

Ironsos, your card arrived, thank you! It made me giggle……what a perfect card from you!

Eeek! I just got a facebook friend request from my Manager at work. I am not friends with ANY of my colleages, but can hardly say “no.”

Asti Just let it sit there. You do not have to friend someone just because they are your manager. I remember the DS’s boss wanted me to give him my password to Facebook so he could get into a closed group I belonged to. I just ignored him and he eventually stopped asking. I think because we shared several different accounts and used the same password he tought he could get into my personal account. Wrong!!

Asti I think that is creepy, your manager wanting to friend you. Of course you can say no, your private life is just that – private.

ASTI, I think it is best if you “never notice” the friend request, becoming so “busy” as to not have the time to keep up with things. I know I have legitimately missed friend requests for long lengths of time. If you are “off line” a few days they become buried in the mire. That is enormously inappropriate of your boss. It would only be acceptable if you were treated as a peer and confidante at work.Even then…it seems to cross a line.

Tomorrow evening is my daughter’s Christmas semi-formal dance. She is on the planning committee and must go an hour early to decorate. She is going stag, having been unsuccessful in coercing a boy to walk in with her, even as a friend.

Tomorrow morning we are all going to see the house across the street.

LadyHawke I am so happy to think your parents could move in across the street. It would ease your running around so much. The house sounds so good. :)

I am taking a break from card writing. I have too many to write. :)

Asti – I agree with everyone. Just ignore the request. I have many people that I never friend. Even relatives. I have a niece that somehow un-friended me and then changed her mind and sent me a friend request. I am not accepting her. I can always claim ignorance of how Facebook works. :)

Asti Ignore the friend request and if your manager asks at work, tell them that you make it a policy not to friend anyone you or your spouse work with. I have so far refused to join facebook because I do not want anyone I work with to be able to even find me online. This is the most public space I visit online. And No one I work with knows my handle or that I visit here. ;)

I set up a Ya group for the family and no one even uses it. Then I belong to 2 Ya groups that are Potter related, both are closed – restricted – whatever they call it. One of those is CC. Plus the alternate castle, and I am afraid I cannot remember my password there. I try not to have a large online presence. ;)

Once I retire, some of that might change. ;)

Good evening!

Ummmm……… Thanks everyone for the wise counsel, but I friended him. Not just because I felt awkward saying “no,” but I am aware at work there is a lot of communication going on via fb, and I have been feeling a bit “out of it.” As soon as I accepted his request, he added me to a closed fb group, dedicated to just my team at work. I feel quite relieved to be part of it, I didn’t even know it existed. Hopefully I won’t feel so isolated now!

Daughter and I met up with my sister for a look around a Christmas Market. We had a really good time. Daughter is great company, and sister is just wonderful! It was great, and now I am exhausted!

Asti I still don’t understand why a supermarket branch manager would need a coterie of workers to communicate via a closed fb group. It doesn’t feel right.

Graymayne maybe they’re planning a coup. They are going to take over, oust the upper management and turn it into a co-op. ;)

It’s late and I want to do some research then I need to hit the hay. ;)

Good evening!

I am feeling very relieved, as today, I finished wrapping the presents. I had the house to myself this morning, and it was my last chance. I am just waiting for a shirt I ordered for my DS to arrive, that is the only thing outstanding.

DS and son played together in a golf comp today……..and won! They are very pleased. They played well, in pretty dreadful conditions. The weather has been horrible today.

I cooked roast chicken, followed by rice pudding with strawberry jam, which went down well. Chicken leftovers will feed is for the next two days.

I am mentally taking deep breaths and trying to relax. Next week at work is NOT going to be fun!

Oooh, and I got my cards written! I’ll go to the Post Office in my lunch hour tomorrow. I doubt they’ll get to America in time, and I’m sorry, but at least they’re almost on their way!

My DS is about to go the the attic and drag the tree down for me. My dining room is still a mess from the upheaval of my parent’s move and my cousin’s death but he will put it right by next weekend so I can get in there and clean the floor and dust. I have the rest of the public parts of the house as close to civilized as they usually get. The “new” furniture is in place and the outgoing piles have been recorded and are waiting to be hauled away.

I will still have to do a massice cleaning but at last.I can see a path to clean. Since the bedbug situation, the huge parental move and my cousin’s death the house has been impassible. For some time we had to watch TV between cracks between the towers of extra furniture in the living room.

Presuming my parents do get posession of the house across the street I am goiung to breathe a sigh of relief because she will feel less comulsion to relieve the pressure in her own space by trying to give me things. She has sent an enormous amount of things home with me that I “should be able to use” that I have had to pack for donation. She will have plenty of space.

My medical condition is totally crummy. I need to rest & heal for a few weeks before any procedures can begin. My lower jaw implants & reconstruction failed! I am screwed! :+/

Won_Two I am so sorry to hear your dismal news. Your surgery failure will totally ruin your usual Christmas plans. However, think positive, it could do wonders for your figure! Focus on looking good for Sally when she returns from her travels and recuperation. Here we are going to aim for eating tasty food without overdoing the things which we know will do us no good at all. I think that perhaps we all have to admit that over-indulgence is only for the young, who are obliged to repent and reform later in life.

Won So sorry things are not working out as you wanted. I had to do an alternative for lower jaw implants myself. Unfortunately over time it also failed. You do what you have to do.

Saturday I went to see the Hunger Games with Jennifer. Afterwards we went to eat and do some shopping. I had a list but forgot to get my cards. It snowed again last night. I will eventually have to go to town to at least pick up my meds.

I am just now putting out things for Christmas. Talk about decorating differently. Since I am using the fibro optic christmas tree, I have put my fibro optic angel on a table top instead of the tree. I have put up xmas wreaths and other things as I think of them. Not really putting up things out of my Christmas decorations box that I use every year. Just things that are in Christmas boxes that I have not put out for years.

Good evening!

………and the madness has started! It’s only Monday, I’m knackered, and work is only going to get busier!

Adella, I have exactly the same problem with the US addresses! Some of them are close enough to ours to hazard a good guess, but others, I have NO idea how to write.

Won, that sounds really tough, I am sorry. xx

CoolG, I am trying desperately to get daughter to the cinema before Catching Fire leaves. She so enjoyed the books. I have bought her a mockingjay necklace as one of her gifts, and I know she would love to see the film.

Deanie, thankyou for your card. It arrived today, and was a welcome sight, with your fab green pen, when I got home from work!

Pretty much the same as to a location within the US, but with United Kingdom at the bottom. ;)

I can tell that the full moon is soon! The kooks are crawling out of the woodwork! Several of my fellow employees and I are almost to the hair-pulling-out stage from dealing with them. ;)

US addresses:
Name
Number and Street name
Apartment or Unit number (if applicable)
City, State and Zip Code

Time to pack up for the day! ;)

Adella Re addresses in U.K. Top line – name, 2nd line – House or Flat number, followed by road name, third line – probably village name or district of town or city, fourth line name of town or city, fifth line might be county. Sixth line – the post code which will be capital letters plus a number, a space, then a number followed by capital letters. Don’t forget to put U.K. as the final line beneath the post code.

It amuses me that the post office sorters will sort from the bottom line upwards.

I have work for three days for the same teacher. Unfortunately, her mother passed away last week and they are still involved with the funetal. The death was unexpected and she had to leave school early in the day after hearing the news.

WON, so sorry. I’m beyond words.

Mr. Deanie Your package arrived safely this morning with one of your delightful craft pieces. Thank you so much:)

Did some re-stocking of the pantry with an emphasis on condiments. It is still too early to buy our favourite, clotted cream. We are keeping sweet things and chocolates to the minimum this year. I’ve already blotted my copybook by demolishing a box of orange cream thins all by myself:(

I wanted something to snack on so put some banana nut muffins in oven.

I found a box of cards. They were in the back of a cabinet that has office supplies. I had to move the couch to open the cabinet door all the way to get the box out. The box has not been used so maybe you won’t receive duplicate cards. I remember buying the same card for someone two years in a row. I save our cards so it must have been the DS’s card since I found the same card twice. I must have liked the card. Lol

OK I finally was able to get into CC. Could read but would not let me post. I was able to get the address list. I am surprised since I have had so much trouble with the site. When I printed the list it is so small I hope I can read it.
