Hello all!

I’m having a hell of a time concentrating this afternoon. I just got back from a 1.5 hour meeting with our grants officer and I’m now completely overwhelmed by everything I have to do by December to get this grant I’m writing submitted. One more reason why I’m NOT ready for August!

Additionally, I’m taking Thursday and Friday off, so my attention span is shot! I just want to GO! The BF and I are visiting my parents for a long weekend. The airport we’re flying out of is a couple of hours away, so we’re spending the night tonight closer to the airport so we don’t have to get up at 3am. I’m ready to just be on the road and somewhere else! WEEEEEE!

Maybe lunch will distract me…

Happy birthday JKR and Harry!!! ;)

Rainy and drear out the window. The supervior has strep throat, but he is here (passing on the infection) and the work is the same. Almost 5.5 hours here and we have fewer than 400 calls.

well, I remember PB – I’m 18 now and like five years ago I was practically a newborn but I remember PB was 18 and I spent quite a bit of time being in awe of 18 year olds and the KNOWLEDGE they must have. I was a fool.

I also remember Cool G, Deanie, Lady Hawke, Ironsos (because I could never figure out how to pronounce it), um someone called Laura? although I may just have made that up. and Ava? (that’s how I remembered this place, actually. I was reading Ava’s Demon).

oh, and I’m British!

Adella: Remember that a lot of people live on Pacific Islands where coconut falls are common.

rambling man, I remember you! I got it as soon as you said how young you were, and that you were British. I’m from the South of the UK, and I believe you live/d in a town not that far from me, beginning with R.
I think your Leaky name was B***Weasley. (I use the asteriscs in case it was your real name.)
How are you!?

Back later…………

Ahh! Asti remembers you!
And you remember me!

You being in awe of me does sound familiar :p but I’m not liking this insinuation of my not having been wise and knowledgeable! I really wish something would trigger my memory here because I’m usually really good at knowing who people are???

The problem PB is that you have triggered your mind so many times that now it is shot.

Spent the afternoon sewing holes in shirts that I like. Anyone else still do this?

PBBBBB dear, don’t get all worked up. Nobody is insinuating anything, we fully admit you weren’t wise.

Good Evening All, I have been very busy. The house has still not closed but may very well close tomorrow or the next day or some time in the not too distant future. My mother decided she was tired of waiting and as we have almost completely run out of time, we are just going to go. I went to the attorney’s office and told them if the money suddenly makes an appearance to just hold the check for us and give us a call to let us know we need to pick it up when we get back.

So, in addition to our regular Wednesday shopping, I came home and started shoving things into suitcases and dragging things in from the outside freezer I think my DS might actually cook for himself and eat. I bought him two steaks at the grocery and I brought in two frozen eggplant parmesans of which he is quite fond. He has some 90 second “cook in the bag” rice and some cook in the bag steamable vegetables. I have decided it is non-productive to actually leave him food I have prepared. Most of the time I come home to find he has eaten in restaurants and cooked himself steaks. It is not worth the time and effort I have put in to come home and find he hasn’t touched it. He goes into bachelor mode.

We are planning to leave very early in the morning for New Orleans.

RAMBLING MAN, we had determined you were British. I’m sorry I don’t remember you specifically but I am glad some of us do. Isn’t it funny as you get older you find out how much the older people really don’t know?

RAMBLING MAN, why did you choose such a male name if you are a female teenager? My thirteen year old daughter wants to know.
