One of those is my father’s first name spelled differently.

helloooooooooo Leaky! I like the new Prince’s name! It sounds quite regal!

I saw that the Bank of England’s new 10-pound note will feature Jane Austen on it, starting in 2016 (or 2017? Can’t recall!) How exciting! This means I will have to get to the UK before 2016 so I can get (and keep forever and ever) a 10-pound note with Darwin on it, and then get to the UK after 2017 so I can do the same for the Jane Austen note. Or I could ask my bank to change money here but that’s far less fun, though admittedly much cheaper. Hmm! I don’t normally collect money but there are a few exceptions.

One of the comments was that in the far far future, JKR might be on a bank note too! Wouldn’t that be something!

HUFFLEBUG, a trip to acquire the bills would be much more fun.

I’m back to reading CoS. I note the Dursley’s sent Harry his Christmas present and note by way of Hedwig. I can hardly credit they would have had anything to do with her. Maybe it was just because they were so desperate to send the note asking Harry if could arrange to stay at Hogwarts for the summer.

It has also occurred to me that it would have been better if Ginny had found the Room of Requirement when trying to get rid of Tom Riddle’s diary instead of chucking it in Moaning Myrtle’s toilet. I wonder how all those other students just happened to do their panicking in the hall outside the room? I suppose not all of them did, just the lucky multitudes.

MM I would love to raid the headmistress’ office for some chocolates!! I may have an update soon…waiting for some news right now!

I am curious about the Cuckoo’s Calling, but I doubt I would be able to find it at the library anytime soon..!

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the summer!

I wonder that Dumbledore did not dispose of Tom Riddle’s trophy for service to the school. He knew the actions for what they were. Was it all part of the plot to allow Harry to figure things out for himself?

Did someone mention chocolate??!!

HUFFFFF – hello! I missed you when you popped in before. So good to see you and hear you’re doing well. Miss you bunches! <3 I also heard the news about the Austen note. Like you, I still need a Darwin note – I’d actually prefer Darwin over Austen, but two trips – one for each note – sounds like a plan! I actually just started reading Persuasion this week. Granted I make it through 1 or 3 pages before crashing, so at this rate it may take me until next summer to finish!

Yall are definitely more detailed readers than I am. I’m listening to the series right now – just started GOF, and I don’t catch nearly as much as yall do. Granted I space out for large periods of time during chapters… I’ve actually started listening to the audiobooks while running and working out and I must say it’s been great – does a good job of getting my mind off the workout. ;)

Good to see you pop in, Adella!

I have finished COS – Of course I will wait for everyone else who is reading to finish before I read PoA.

I really should get up a list of everyone who is reading along.

Off the top of my head it is LH, Graymayne, Deanie, MM, Asti, and me. I’m not 100% sure on everyone else. If I forgot anyboyd, I apologize.

I am tired. I spent the morning cleaning out my refrigerator and freezer and wiping them out. I cleaned the stove top and I’ve run two loads in the dishwasher as well as doing a lot of hand washing.

I have a man coming from the warranty company to repair my freezer which is melting into my refrigerator, to stop my dishwasher from leaking and to stop my stove top from shocking.

Must be a bad week for fridge/freezers! Mine died this week – my landlord is putting in a new one this afternoon, hopefully! However, I’m moving at the beginning of the month, so just a few days to enjoy it. While not new, the kitchen in my new place will at least be more updated than my current one (except for the fridge/freezer).

UGGGHHH!!!! Moving…. BOOOO!!! I HATE moving. You have moved so many times fairly recently I suppose you haven’t had the opportunity to stockpile a lot of extraneous things. Still the idea of having to do any more packing or any more moving makes me shudder.

I still have a pile of boxes that came over from my parent’s house whose contents I haven’t even started to go through. We are making very slow progress on all the extraneous furniture. We have the double cedar wardrobe hidden behind a Japanese screen in the corner of the dining room. My DS is having to put up 2 × 4s on the wall over my chest of drawers in the bedroom to support the oak and glass wall cabinet from my bedroom at home. He is making progress with that but the cabinet is still in my living room. The daybed has made its way to the computer room as has the desk. I still have a chest of drawers in my living room my DS says is going to the garage. Two chests of drawers went to the closet in the computer room. Then, we still have to empty a spot and reconstruct the barrister bookshelves we brought from my cousin’s house. Fortunately, I was able to find a space for the liquor cabinet from the beginning, although it may yet move to the dining room.

We have boxes and boxes of things I have to catalog before taking them to Salvation Army. Once I do that we can use the space for the barrister bookshelves. Things are improving but no one would be able to walk into my house and see how much things have improved because it is still basically impassible. I also have more photo albums than I know what to do with.

I know I told you I had to purchase a new paperback copy of CoS. I just looked and it is part of the first mass market paperback printing from November of 2002. They printed so many they are still on the shelves as new books.

Good evening!

Page 380! I’m saving the rest for tomorrow.
SLIGHT SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!

I am enjoying it very much, but am reaching the “can’t put it down because all is about to be revealed” point. It’s getting on for 9.30, I’m working tomorrow, and don’t want to rush it, so I’ve stopped for tonight.

I am struck, every time I pick it up, that it does not sound like JK.
I find it a little odd that she has so firmly placed it, very obviously, in 2010. In some ways, it is dated already. She mentions the Sunday newspaper The News of the World, which now no longer exists. It is interesting she touches on the election, and the economic crisis, reminding me of the politial aspects of TCV.

SLIGHT SPOILERS OVER!

LEW, I am going to be incredibly nosy, forgive me. Is your move due to you and your BF choosing to rent a new place as a couple, or are you buying a place? Either way, I hope the move goes well, and you enjoy your new home! Don’t forget, we need your new address! xx

Korey, I should say that although I’ve reread PS, I am not keeping up with you all on the reread, so please don’t wait for me!

LEW and HUFF, much as I would love to see you both in the UK, I would be more than happy to send you both a Darwin £10 note. Let me know. This is a serious offer, and I would not expect reimbursement.

Lady Hawke, I too found it odd that Vernon and Petunia would use Hedwig, AND that Hedwig would go to them in the first place. But I supposed she must have pecked at them and bothered them until they gave her something to take to Harry for Christmas.

ASTI, the point you made is interesting. As an American I didn’t pick up on any of those things you mentioned at all. So, I wasn’t bothered by it.

The repair man is here and has shown me the issue with my freezer/refrigerator is something I can manage on my own in the future. The dish washer is also an easy fix but not something I can do myself. The stove top is the issue. It is cracked and although it has worked without issue for years in its cracked condition there may be an issue with replacing it. A bottle of vinegar fell off the shelf above and cracked the surface. So, the insurance company may not want to replace it for us.

My DS has been bustling about getting ready for his ukulele camping weekend which starts tomorrow. He nipped out to do some shopping to tide me over the weekend and I did a fifteen minute stint in the garden counting butterfly species for the annual count which is run on line. I also continued to add names and numbers to the phonebook in our new land-line phone because I like to know who is phoning before I answer it. I’m having to use a PDF document on the PC because the instruction book was missing from the box. It is quite a struggle to remember all the rules governing the use of these devices but I like the generous number pads, and the font for the screen is very legible despite the screen being tiny. This year has been heavy with re-learning tasks, Kindle Fire, a “new” TV with a horrible admin system and a lousy handbook and now a new phone. My reading is on hold at the moment, which is a shame.

I’m ready to seek my bed.

You do stay up late, GRAYMAYNE. I hate devices with lots of complicated controls it is impossible to remember. I will find a limited number of things I want to be able to do and those are all I use.

Hello everyone! It is so very nice to see Huff, & Laura, & Adella, & Korey all back on here at the same time. Lately I’ve been lamenting how the few of us keep getting ‘fewer’… Makes me feel all nostalgic, warm, & ‘fuzzy’ lool!
Well, tomorrow is a big day for me medically. I am getting 4 teeth permanently implanted in my lower jaw. The 5 lost uppers are way more problematic. The supporting bone structure between & below my cheekbones was so seriously fractured & splintered that implants are impossible at this time. They may be impossible forever depending on how the healing goes. In the meantime I will be getting a partial plate. I cannot even get a bridge as the support for the remaining teeth is so weakened & loosened that they cannot be used as anchors for any bridgework. I still won’t be able to chew anything more substantial than mac & cheese etc. for a week or two, but it sure beats eating through a flippin’ straw! I’ll check in tomorrow evening & let y’all know how everything went. Cheers! :+)

Hi to everyone!

Won very sorry to hear about the incident… I hope all goes well tomorrow!

I don’t know when I stopped being a regular :/, I do still try to catch up every now and then and just procrastinate about posting. I got lost in school and I also got used to being at the other place where it was more private (thus, I became more of a lurker here). I miss everyone though, I might be around a bit more often now, I’ll get my cyberpunk bff to stop over too.

I miss our parties, movie nights, and game nights!! The other day, something made me thing of Ironsos answering every question with ‘The Flaw in the Plan’ and then missing the one question where that actually was the answer; I was in a fit of giggles :)

That little exchange is just evidence that you people really are out there lurking but not posting. I think COOLG is also lurking and not posting. I saw here on Facebook the last couple of days but she hasn’t posted here.

WON, my father had an implant done last summer. I don’t think you’ll have any problems with them but it is a really complicated process. It took many months before the actual tooth was in his mouth. Have you already had the post put in? Is that what they are doing today?

Yesterday on THE CHEW TV show they were experimenting with blending foods to liquid to see what was still palatable. A viewer on a liquid diet had asked them for liquid diet recipes. One of their attempts was successful but the other was not. I think they said they are going to keep trying. I hope you are beyond that now.

LH, we’re moving literally across the street, so there actually won’t be too much packing. We’ll just slowly migrate our things to the larger house, then call in the BF’s brothers to help with the big stuff. Actually, since writing the sentence above, I got the ok to start moving stuff in today. Joy!

asti, your nosiness is welcome! ;) The BF and I are officially moving in together – as in both of our names will be on the lease. Neither of us is ready to buy, and I’ve already told him I’m not going to buy a house with him until I have a ring on my finger. But we got a good deal on the rental property across the street and it’s about twice as big as the place we’re in now (the BF has been unofficially living with me for about 6 months). And actually, a new employee of the museum I’m at will be moving into the house we’re vacating – so we’re still keeping it in the family. ;)

Of course, I have not told my parents yet that the BF and I are moving in together. I wonder how long I can just pick up mail at the old place before they find out….

Won, so glad to hear that you’re at least one step closer to recovery and solid foods. Good luck today and I hope the healing keeps getting better! And it feel good to be back – I’ve missed yall. I get nostalgic, as well, and that’s when I come back!

DR LEW, I don’t want to be you when your mother finds out. I know I am a big girl with a child of my own but I’m still afraid of my mother. I tended to get away with stuff I was worried about better when I just did whatever it was and talked about it like it was perfectly okay, the power of suggestion there was nothing wrong with what I had done. I don’t know if that works when you have moved in with a boy.

Good evening!

Daughter and her friend got together this afternoon and came up with a list of questions to send to Wolfie. about her book. They are doing an article for their school newspaper. Friend is the Editor. They were quite excited.

LEW, thankyou for forgiving my nosiness, and what great news! The prospect of a ring in the future is HUGELY exciting, and getting a house together is a big commitment. I had to giggle about your parents, I do know how you’re feeling. My Mum always put my DS and I in separate rooms, even though we lived together for about 6 years before we married. She only let us share a room after we had our son. It was a bit hard for her to pretend after that!!!! Good luck to you both, xxx

WAVING MADLY AT ELLA AND PB!

Won, I do hope all has gone well, and you are not in too much discomfort.
