Asti Good news about seeing your favourite author, have fun!

My DS had to jump through the standard hoops, BP, chest sounding, ECG and nothing was found to be wrong with his heart. )h, and we learned that an apparent atrial flutter on an ECG can be caused by a poor connection. Who knew! So far, so good. On Friday he will see his GP to discuss the blood test and chest Xray results. We have no explanation for the discomfort he is still feeling on the left side of his chest and under his left shoulder blade.

My three hares pendant arrived, finally, today, fourteen days after an email to say the package had been dispatched. The carrier was the Royal Mail, postal rate paid was second class. I am not impressed.

Good afternoon. I was up early doing some grocery shopping, depositing money in the bank and errand.
I went out to lunch with my sister and did some shopping. I found three light long sleeve blouses that I intend to chop of the sleeves and turn into summer blouses. They were in the clearance rack and I had to have them. I also bought a pair of slacks.

Now I am at the park for soccer practice with the DS. :)
It has been a busy day but I’m not tired at all :)

We went and hung my parent’s artwork and family photos on the walls. It made a huge difference in the appearance of the apartment. They were both pleased but my father was especially pleased. I still have to find some little hooks to put on the back of some of the photo because the frames are meant to sit on tables and we need to put them on the walls. We are putting framed photographs on the wall leading down the hall to their bedrooms.

Tomorrow is regular shopping day and my father needs books.

The office has been open for 1.5 hours, we have 15 people here to handle the phones and we have only received 73 calls so far. Less than 5 calls per person! Is it any wonder I am bored? ;)

Work-ish lurk. ;)

DEANIE, half the country has taken off the entire week.

My DS has chores to do at home so we are headed out to do the shopping for my parents. We won’t be out all day today. We can hit the grocery and the bookstore, have lunch with my parents and head home well before dinner time.

I am ever so slightly not sober.

:)

My sister and I really enjoyed the author talk. She spoke a bit about the book, and then read an extract. That was very interesting, as I got to hear how she hears her own words on the page, how she means the emphasis to fall in each sentence, just fascinating. I wish I could here her read the whole book, then I’d know how it sounds to her, rather than me reading it, and putting, inevitably, my own interpretation on her words. Then she took questions, and showed herself to be very empathetic, reasoned and eloquent.

Sister and then took in an art exhibition and a look at the cathedral before abandoning such cerebral delights to go to the pub. Where we found they had an offer……buy two glasses of wine and you get the rest of the bottle free. So we did. Pizza Express had also sent me an email for a free bottle of wine if we bought two main courses, so once the first bottle ran out, we took ourselves there!

We both caught our respective buses home, and, as I was walking/weaving the mile from town to home, I was offered a lift by a woman from work. To whom I WILL apologise the next time I see her, for wittering on in a pretty ineloquent way, lol!

There, ASTI, is the biggest PRO for not driving and living in a country where you don’t have to drive. I am never able to become “slightly not sober” in public because I am almost always driving. I should have taken better advantage of my time in Chicago for LeakyCon when I had no access to a car, except for being chauffered by MM. No one else was having more than one drink so I didn’t either. I am glad you enjoyed your day, both the author, your sister and your bottles of wine.

I am home from our parental expedition early as we did not have to wait until after school to pick my daughter up before we had lunch. Also, my DS is on vacation this week so I was anxious to get home early, especially since it is our twentieth anniversary. We have no plans and are eating the leftover fried chicken I made earlier, but still, I wanted to come home early and HE ISN’T HERE.

Lady Hawke: Happy Anniversary!

Spent a few minutes putting together a new wire 3-shelf rack. I just love it when they send you parts that are
not pictured on the diagram and don’t even belong to what you are putting together. I fear someone else is going
to have a bad time putting something together.

I’m never sure “extra” parts are really extra. I feel compelled to find what I am supposed to do with them.

Lady Hawke: There were 7 bushings with an inside/outside diameter that would not fit anywhere. Were
not listed on the parts list either.

So, it is verly likely someone else is doing without. It is always better to be the person with too much than not enough.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ASTI!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, GRAYMAYNE!

I am going to put a beef roast and veggies in a crock pot today. We have been waiting for a day when we didn’t have any chores to do to go on an outing. My DS needs to cut grass this morning so while he is doing that I intend to prepare the crock pot. Then, if the weather holds we may go do something fun as a family.

Ironsos I am impressed. You got it all put together without a woman to read the directions and tell you what to do! ;)

I watched the Brain Games episode where they explored the differences between male and female brains. And why each gender uses different methods of problem solving. If you can find it on Hulu or YouTube, it is worth a watch. ;)

Otherwise I am just work lurking. ;)

Thank you one and all for your felicitations:) This morning was taken up with getting ready to go out to lunch at The Woodbridge and creating a new bracelet for the occasion. Today we ate in The Garden Room, an extension to the old inn, with floor to ceiling windows which look out onto a flagstoned terrace with light tables and chairs and beyond that to the River Severn, and the steep walls of the gorge. I’ll write about that tomorrow at cc. We came the long way home via Broseley and Bridgnorth just to extend our day out and my DS took his usual afternoon nap and I nodded off in my armchair. This evening we treated ourselves by watching our new DVD Quartet featuring five well-known stars of stage and screen, including Maggie Smith and Michael Gambon of HP fame. While we watched that we were recording two TV programmes, one of which we viewed after our DVD. Our interest in pre-history has deepened since BigG took up the subject of ancient weapons and archaeology seems to have gained a new lease of life in recent years and old ideas are being updated rapidly, and climate change and tsunamis are all in the mix.

I’ve drunk my hot chocolate and I’m ready for bed, after a good day.

Good Evening everyone!!!! I just got finished cutting my lawn, I have two lots to cut, and the back yard is not easy, because they cut down three huge trees before I bought the house, and some of them had above the ground roots!!!!! one is extremly huge and its roots spread out in every direction, the last time I cut the back yard I almost fell over backwards pulling the lawn mower backwards, Yes!!! it scared me now I make sure I am watching from every direction!! especially when I am pulling the mower backwards!!!! Happy belated Birthday Asti!!! and Happy Anniversary Graymayne!!!! I have to go and get my blood drawn tomorrow morning for sure!!!! my doctor appt is on the 7th of June and I keep putting it off!!!! I need to stop staying up until about 3am and sleeping in until 10am!!!! because of it!!!!! I have painted my fireplace trim on the bottom around my marble slab which I just finished putting a trim around it, and it is now shinny black gloss, so this meant I also had to paint my mantel which was white to match and it came out very well, I also had to put some more grout between my ceramic tiles at my entry way, I search high and low and could not find my can of grout I had so a bought a new can and it was too light and did not match, so I was determined not to give up and found it on top of my stackable washer & dryer in my bathroom!!!! GO FIGURE!!! it was the last place I expected to find it!!! I emptied out all four of my double closets and could not find a trace of it!!!! well this was just a few of the things I have been putting off until I had the time to do it!!!! and NOW I have NO excuse NOT to get everything done since I am home full-time now!!!! I have a question a test question!!!!! WHAT WAS THE NUMBER ON THE HOGWARTS EXPRESS TRAIN THAT HARRY BOARDED ON THE OTHERSIDE OF PLATFORM 9 3/4 ?

The classical music station I most listen to has a show on in honor of Mel Blanc’s birthday
and are playing selections from cartoon’s from Warner Brother’s and Disney. Everyone
has been familiar to me. Both the music and gladly the cartoons also.

Work is awfully busy. :(

Today I worked 3 hours overtime and I missed my opportunity to see my grandson. :(

I am very busy this weekend too. tomorrow I am going to our nurse’s retirement dinner. It saddens me to think she she will not be there next year.

I saw “Senior Clerk”. She is doing about the same. We sat near each other and she was very pleasant .:O

MM, I’m sorry the end of school year crush is making it impossible for you to see your grandson. I know he is at the age when every time you see him he has changed. It is also too bad you are losing your school nurse who is so attuned to your health problems and knows your history. I will never feel comfortable with you speaking to “Senior Clerk” no matter how pleasant she is.

It rained all night with a few thunderstorms as well. Now it is wet and overcast but not raining. Yesterday, my DS and daughter took so long doing the yard work we never broke away for “fun”. I don’t know if we will manage anything today or not.
