Hi asti Yeah I have seen the film Brassed Off. I really like it.

I’m reading The Last King of Scotland for my book club – I’m enjoying it, but its quite tough going. Also for some reason I thought it was based on a true story. Having read the write up for the book I realise it isnt.

I am off to bed as I need to be up early in the morning to drive to coventry (asti/Graymayne no jokes about being sent to coventry hhahahaaha)

I came home late due to our school’s Open House. Our school is so huge that we have to do two days of Open House. I translate all the speeches that principal makes. It’s funny that I don’t feel any qualms stepping up to the microphone and speaking in front of 2,000 people. I have done this each year and I am quite used to this. :)

If you would have asked me to do this 10 years ago, I would have told you NO. :)

I have to do this again tomorrow.

“Senior Clerk” update. I received a call from the head secretary at the new school she is working. She wanted to know if she had “worked” in my office. I told her that I had to create lists with weekly rotations in order for her to get off her “duffus” and actually do work. The secretary sounded frustrated and I felt very guilty. I love my office and I love my office girls. I got ridmof “senior clerk” AND I have my old clerk back. I had forgotten how wonderful she was. She organizes without being asked. She stays late and works on projects with me. She takes stuff home over the weekend. I missed her so much. She is kind and hard working. I am so happy I go to work and I have peace in my office. I should send that other secretary a fruit basket or flowers or something. I know how miserable she is. I feel guilty but I am so happy I don’t care. :/

I lost one clerk but my new clerk is pretty awesome too. She is a quick learner and eager to please. The clerk that was moved is doing really well at her new school. They love her. Coming from our huge school she is super efficient at the little school. The secretary loves her and calls me with high compliments. I miss her but I am happy that we trained her well and that she is loved at her new office. She is excelling and winning the hearts of the office people. :)

I wish I could say the same for “senior clerk”. :(

MM I am impressed by your skills as an interpreter! Don’t you dare have a guilt trip over “senior clerk”! The presence of this odious person within the school system is entirely the responsibility of the Education Management who have consistently failed to get rid of a bad worker. I am delighted that you are back to having a harmonious, hard-working team.

Wolfie Who me, lol?

Morning

Daylight is getting later and later. It is already 5 minutes later than the other day and still dark. Seven minutes later and I can see a little light.

I am up again by 4 AM. This is causing me to take a nap in the afternoon or fall asleep while I am watching the evening shows. The new programs are starting to come on so I want to be awake to watch them.

Hello everyone. Just sitting here after ‘battening down me hatches’ & waiting for the storms to arrive. They are giving us here in Southern Maryland a 40% chance of a tornado dropping in, otherwise very high speed winds, almost Derecho like in aspect, & hail, & heavy, severe thunderstorms & flooding… Wow, thats quite a mouthful! lool… :+)

I re-joined cc as usual today and all was well this morning. Tonight I was asked again to join the group but my password was not accepted, even after two goes. I changed my password via the email link and that isn’t being accepted either!!

Good evening!

I have to have a Proud Mummy moment. Her teacher was so impressed with my daughter’s Literacy homework, that she was asked to stand and read it aloud to the class. I’m very proud of my clever little girl.

CoolG, I too am sad about the loss of daylight. Today, for the first time, the streetlights were still on when I left the house for work. I find it more and more depressing.

MM, I echo Graymayne…… Don’t you dare have a guilt trip! “Senior Clerk” is NOT your responsibility. You suffered enough, just enjoy your office, and don’t even THINK about her again! I am sorry for the school who now has to cope with her, but you did more than your fair share.
Have you told your colleagues about the Grandbaby yet?

Won, I hope it’s not as bad as the forecast. Stay safe.

Lady Hawke, is the end of the washing in sight?

ASTI, I’ve washed all I intend to wash unless I find the darn things are in my closet and I don’t believe they are. I haven’t found any evidence of them in the drawers in my bedroom. I have not found evidence of them on the bookshelves. I’ve looked at the door frames for residue and haven’t found any. The closets are on the outer periphery of the large bathroom, about six feet away from the bedroom across a tile floor and ten feet from the bed. Considering all these drawers that are two feet from the bed are okay I can’t imagine they were desperate to get into the closets.

The room is utterly destroyed. We will need to wait a month or more to move back in to sleep and probably at least another month before we will be willing to invest in a new bed. My books may remained packed for the next 18 months. I want to make certain anything in those bags are dead, dead, dead. So, I can see it will be a very long time before my bedroom and living arrangements are back to normal.

I am still working at bagging various items and labeling the outside of the bags of significant things. My HP books are labeled.

We are going to lay down sticky traps to see if we detect any movement around the house. If we can go for a period of several weeks with no more bites and nothing trapped on the traps we will feel as if we have successfully protected ourselves.

Wotcher Ya’ll

very glad the eyes turned out so well Ironsos. on other news my computer is still no good, tried everything, it doesn’t work.. I need to clean everything off the harddrive. I own Windows XP so that is not a problem. Can’t find a cleaner or eraser like I used last time so that is why I was hoping you or Won had a website you could send me to. the one you posted a few pages back won’t allow me to use it…. this is getting very frustrating…

MMM congrats !!!!! that is wonderful news. and I agree – do not feel any guilt about being rid of your dear Senior Clerk. you gave the new secretary good advise. You have paid your price for the school system being unwilling and unable to fire her butt.

will be on occassionallytill I can get this computer fixed…..

Sirius B: If you cannot use cc cleaner then I do not know of a drive wiper that I could recommend.
Remember that you want to wipe the free space only on your hard drive. Wiping the hard
drive itself will result in losing EVERYTHING on the hard drive,XP included.

Sirius B: You will also want to make a list of ALL the software other than XP you wish to
reinstall. XP must be reloaded from a disk. All picture/e-mail/music/videos ect will be lost
if you wipe the hard drive itself.

Morning

It is actually cold this morning. It is 41 degrees outside. It is cool in the house but not cold. The furnace has not turned on. Since we only have 3 more days of summer left, it is understandable that is getting cooler.

I guess I will have to start doing all the things I have been thinking about to keep the house warmer.

Ironsos I want to wipe everything off the hard drive and then reinstall XP everything I have on in terms of software and pics I can get back. I am not one to save music or pictures. the e-mail I need is saved in yahoo and recoverable. I’m going to try just doing the free space and see what happens, haven’t tried just that yet…

This is parent day. When I get home it will be late and I will be exhausted but at least I won’t be here today. Here is not pleasant.

No doctor appointments today but I do need to take my mother to the bank and my father to get a haircut in addition to the grocery and pharmacy run.

Sirius, if you have a valid, genuine Windows installation disc & all you want to do is wipe the drive clean & start from scratch do the following:

1) Go to My Computer

2) Right click on C drive

3) Find the choice “format, or reformat”

4) Click on format & follow instructions.

Good evening!

I am late here tonight…. it is approaching midnight. We watched the first episode of a repeat of Game of Thrones. I was really impressed. It looked good, and kept very close to the book, which I now want to re read, lol! My DS really enjoyed it. I thought he would!

Work was pretty horrid today. I am glad to be off tomorrow. Daughter is going to a friends for tea, so I don’t even have to do the school run, which will be utter luxury! I am going to have a lazy day, practising the piano, along with the inevitable feeding of the washing machine.

I see it has been a quiet day here. ASTI, sorry you had a difficult day but I’m glad you have tomorrow off to recover.

I am fairly certain I am allegic to the lavender I’ve been using to wash all our clothes and linens. I’m itching everywhere my clothes are touching me. The bites have almost healed but I’m itching everywhere. It is almost bedtime and I am doing an emergency load of clothingwith no lavender so I have something to sleep in and something to wear tomorrow that is not covered in lavender scent. I wish I had time to rinse my sheets but I guess I’ll take not wearing a gown that is making me itch.

Tomorrow I’m going to have to rinse all my clean clothes and wash everything that is dirty, minus the lavender.

IRONSOS, I’m definitely going to have to start spot testing anything new that comes into my life. Considering I am itching everywhere under the areas covered by the shorts and shirts I have been wearing 90% of the time since all this started I’m pretty sure some component of those lavender scented crystals I’ve been adding to the wash.

Congrats MM!!! Have fun on your little trip! ;)

Lady Hawke Try the vinegar rinse. White distilled vinegar can be bought by the gallon at the grocery store. If you just want to try it on one or two loads, get the quart. I hope the itching stops soon.

It looks like we will be heading west in July or very early August. We would love to meet for a meal on the way back. ;)

Good evening!

Well, I don’t feel at all guilty for having a lazy day……. About half an hour ago, I had a phonecall from my Manager. They’ve had a catastrophically awful day, and he asked me to work overtime tomorrow. I leave the place for one day, and it all falls apart, lol!

MM, happy anniversary! I hope you and your DS have a lovely weekend.
