WON, I think the weather has passed. We had a Tornado Watch for a few hours and a Tornado Warning north of us. There was some thunder and lightning and a good bit of rain which we needed. If it is still raining it is not enough to hear in the bedroom.

ASTI, I spread the word to my mother as well. She was pleased for you son and aghast at the cost of the new clubs but quite anxious he should have them but fearful he will grow more too soon. I take it he has just gone through a growth spurt so I hope that holds him for a bit.

hello everyone

I’m popping in quickly just before a conference call. I’ve been working on a presentation all morning and my brain is absolutely fried

Asti congrats to your son, thats a real acheivement. Re: the golf clubs I know how you feel about the expense. My oldest neice plays the cello (she’s currently at a grade 6 level). At the moment she hires a cello from her college, but from next year she wont be able to do this and we’ll have to buy her one. The problem is that she is quite small and has very small arms and hands (for someone who plays the cello) so she will need a custom made 3/4 cello. At the moment she uses a standard 3/4 cello from the school which she puts on a block and has made some adjustments to. It’s ok in the short term, but not if she wants to continue longer term. Her teacher is looking out to see if they can find something suitable at auction which could cost about £800. If we have to get one custom made it could cost as much as £1500!!!! gah – so that’ll mean no summer holiday for me :-)

HW your teacher sounds like one of my clients – assuming I am an octopus . . . you have to love’em for their lunacy. Just think of it as developing your workplace skillset – you’ll be an amazing employee who can multitask better than anyone.

Jen I cant believe that my nephew is 2 years old either. He seems to have grown up a lot quicker than the other 3. I’m not sure whether its because my sister had 3 kids in quite a short period of time and so the baby phase seemed to go on forever or whether its because I’m older and time seems to move much quicker. The older he gets the more of a monster he seems to become – but in a very cute and adorable way. He comes to visit me for 1 weekend every month so we usually get 2 full days together and he knows he can wrap me round his little finger. He’s up here 0n the 14th October and we are going pottery painting with my godson – so I’m expecting I’ll have to take out a mortgage to pay for all the breakages

Morning

Wolfie It seems it was only yesterday when your nephew was born.

Asti That is a lot of money but it will be well spent.

The sun has just poked out today. Maybe the rain is over for awhile.

WOLFIE.

You’re taking a two year old to paint pottery?!!!! YOU MUST BE OUT OF YOUR MIND!!!! I am terrified of taking myself into one of those places, much less going with my eleven year old. What are you thinking?

HEY EVERYONE!!!! ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

The lady I met at Facebook who attended LeakyCon with her daughter and whom I’ve been visiting with at Facebook and by phone since back in May plans on stopping in here and chatting.

Her name is mad_maggie01. So, when she shows up here she is not a “random”.

Aloha! ;)

Our new phone service goes “live” tomorrow. So I was in a meeting about it this morning. I think it ranks as a lot of PhD, Piled higher and Deeper! ;)

My desk was once again “straightened”. It took me well over an hour to find everything. ;)

I have got to corner our boss. ;)

Hi, I’m mad_maggie01. I’m a friend of Lady Hawke. She suggested I visit you guys. I don’t mind if you shorten my name or i also answer to fluffy ( cause I’m short and round). I live in New Jersey and have just recently read the HP books because I made a promise to Evanna Lynch. At LeakyCon this year, she answered a question by saying people who had seen the movies but not read the books were idiots. So when I met her I asked her if she would take a picture with my daughter if I promised to read the books. She said whe would and she did, So I did. I wasn’t sure how much fun I would have at a"Potter Nerd" convention (no offense meant), but I surprised myself. I had a FANTASTIC time and met some REALLY GREAT people. Can’t wait to do it again. Thanks for letting me talk to you.

Hi Josephine. Thank you. I have recently (last 6 months or so) started doing more things on the internet. So I’m still learning the lingo and technology, I really appreciate all explanations regarding terms and symbols, etc. May I ask where you are from?

Hi Felipe. Thank you. I actually read all 7 of them in 3 days because my daughter was insistent on taking them back to college with her and I don’t have any copies of my own. She only has 3 sets of her own,

Welcome Maggie I am one of our senior members here-not in how long I have been with the group but in age. We use to talk Harry Potter all the time but now usually when someone is rereading the books and discovers a new tibit to share. So we are thrill when somone might have questions. Lol What is your PM name so we can friend you?

Mr. Deanie I did not include you when I said we hadn;t had anyone new in a long time because even though you haven’t been posting long yourself , we all feel we know you from Deanie.

Josie What is your PM name? Woo Hoo for having some more Gryffindor’s. I don’t friend anyone I don’t know so unless I know your name…….. I am FeatherHex27.

On PM what is the deal with the dates of how long you have been on? I didn’t think anyone could have joined before they made the announcement but it shows Won as Jan 2011. Oh never mind. It is showing the correct date now.

LH I’m a fun auntie I have to flirt with danger . . . :-) I’m going with my friend and her 1 year old (my godson) and my other friend and her 4 month old. We are going to make some christmas baubles with childrens handprints. I’m less worried about pottery accidents and more worried about potty training accidents :-)

coolg I know – its hard to believe he’s a proper little boy now and no longer a baby.

Hello maggie. Its great to have a new person on board it hasnt happened in such a long time. I’m really envious of your 3day book fest. Whenever I see people reading Harry Potter on the bus or the tube I always get jealous because I think it might be the first time they are reading it and they get to experience all the fun and enjoyment of Harry Potter for the very first time . . and I wish it was me.

. . . and felipe What on earth are you doing stalking laura and her fleabitten Emu . . . what about me . . and Elmo? Poor little Elmo is devastated that you would waste your stalking ability on them when you could be having quality stalker time with us. Honestly the youth of today . . they have no taste :-P

Whoops, I forgot………Wolfie, does your neice hope to make music her career? When I managed a cafe I had a girl work for me who played the flute. Now she is part of one of the big national orchestras! And lol, I’m glad to see I’m not the only one sacrificing a summer holiday (and potentially food!) Your sister is lucky to have your help. How is Elmo these days??

Hello everyone! I see that Saudi Arabia has finally gotten around to allowing women to vote, & run for political office! It takes effect in 2015… Of course, they will still not be allowed to drive! Time marches on… (Sort of!)

I always stalk Minxie…. She is Lushtastic, and such a fine southern belle!

Asti she doesnt want to make a career out of it but wants to carry on playing in an orchestra. elmo has just popped out of the house for a while. He’s going to pay felipe a visit and poo in his bed for forgetting to stalk us. . . and eating is seriously over rated hahaha Although at least you have the potential to reap lots of rewards for your sacrifice when your son is an international golf pro . .I’ll get no return on my investment whatsoever. Luckily my youngest nephew is showing extraordinary football skills even at the young age of 2… he put a few 4 an 5 year olds to shame at our local football pitch so I’m hoping he will become a football celebrity and look after me in my old age.

Won a colleague of mine was invited to visit Saudi Arabia to provide expert advice on a project. Despite her ‘expert’ professional status she was asked if she could take a male relative with her because she couldnt go out in public without a male escort.

. . . I’m also waiting for either ironsos or sirius to come online and make a joke about women drivers hahaha

speaking of women drivers . . . can you believe it! I’ve had a clean driving license for 22 years (which given the amount of driving I do for work is pretty good) then I get two speeding tickets in one day. I was on the M60 and the driving speeds go up and down like a yoyo – one minute its 40 mph, then 50, then back to 40 then 60. I was caught at the same camera once in the morning and once in the evening going 60 miles an hour in a 50 mile an hour zone . . I never speed so I must have thought it was a 60mph zone. Now I get 3 points on my license and have to go on a speed awareness course. I’ll never have a clean license again

mad_maggie, I am from Salt Lake City. I’ve been posting here since 2006. Time flies.

CoolG , I am MagicFlame52. I only accept friends whom I know here. My daughter (Slytherin) is rejecting anyone she does not know especially since Pottermore says not to accept strangers. Smart advice.

Felipe, shame. Go stalk wolfie and elmo too. There’s a good lad.

My comp decided to shut me out of Leaky after I last posted. I retaliated by shutting it down. Ha!

Hi everyone. thanks so much for letting me join you. My Pottermore name is FlightPixie24 and I am a VERY PROUD AND HAPPY HUFFLEPUFF! I have a ginger cat and my wand is a 10" slightly yielding maple w/phoenix feather core. I was reading some of your earlier posts and I laughed my head off at the snake and cockroach stories. But I have a better one! I was a senior in high school when I set my science teacher on fire during a lab exercise. I did put him out and it was just a little fire. It wasn’t really my fault so much as his. Who leans over a lit bunsen burner?

Wolfie, it’s terrific she wants to carry on with the cello into her adult life. I wish wish wish I’d kept up with the piano. Now I’ve started playing again, I’m getting so much enjoyment from it. I lost out on 20 years of pleasure.
I fully intend to take every advantage of my son’s potential future earnings, have no fear!!!
That’s a shame about the points. My DS got caught a few years ago………we were on holiday in Wales, and son got car sick. DS was concentrating on getting him home asap, and missed a sign. It’s scarily easily done.

I tried to go on Pottermore about 30 mins ago; it was down, but the next time I can get there, I’ll friend you. It’s a sweet name!
