Cool G and any other good friends… Please do not worry over me on this one… Something has come to my attention that has really stunned the bejesus out of me. I am presently scrambling about to gather as much info/intel as I can before I draw my conclusions, & come a decision on what, if anything to do about it. I WILL be posting a ‘story’ on CC in a while to illuminate you all. I will need your collective wisdom on this one I think… Thanks & much love!

I’m going out to get flu shots for my parents. On our regular runs during the week we are so heavily scheduled with appointments as to be unable to risk whatever length of time it takes to wait on the convenience of a pharmacist to come out from behind the counter to administer injections. We cannot risk my father getting the flu this year.

I’ll be checking in here and elsewhere when I return.

Good morning, all, and happy Saturday. :) This is Homecoming weekend here, so our day today is taken up with running LP here, there and everywhere for getting ready with friends, pictures, dinner, the dance, etc.

Won I hope whatever it is that it’s nothing awful, though it does sound ominous. On pins and needles…

I hope you enjoy Pottermore the more you get into it, CoolG! I know I’m still missing a few things myself but have not been super motivated to get back over there to find them as I’ve already been through the entire book twice, some parts three or four times, trying to find them. I do think I found all the extra info, at least.

Jen without telling tales on anyone, I will just say to remain optimistic but don’t hold your breath over the varying ease of potty training for the sexes, LOL! I’ll keep my fingers crossed, but at least that topic is fairly far in the future for now. I hope the new baby and your sister and everyone are all doing great.

We will definitely take pictures on our writing weekend, but we’ve agreed already not to take any of each other, LOL! This is a working weekend, but also a chickee partying weekend. Sweats or pjs, no makeup, lots of chocolate and alcohol. We don’t want any photos like that showing up on FB! The setting… totally safe. ;)

I’m with Jen on the diet changes and your DS, LH! If mine came home with those sorts of demands, I would point him the way of the kitchen and tell him to have at it. I’ve had years of making several meals already for various picky kids (and, I admit, myself) and am just done with the whole thing. Actually, the DS is really the one who does the majority of the cooking here now, along with help from LP, but we’ve finally progressed to the point where everyone eats whatever the meal is that’s being served or they don’t eat (or can get themselves cereal or a burrito or something), but anything that far outside the norm for us would get a swift, unanimous veto. All I can do is wish you luck, but maybe I won’t wish for it too hard. Let’s hope he eases up on it at least a bit. Not sacrificing the changes he needs to make for his health, but maybe compromising on some of the more hard core stuff or at least agreeing to deal with it himself. Don’t you have enough to do already? BTW, the caveman and the acorn squash thing cracked me up, LOL.

Good evening!

Yesterday was our wedding anniversary. We went out for a lovely meal and a nice bottle of wine, then on the way home at a very sedate and responsible 9.30, bumped into a group of the DS’s old school friends, were forcibly dragged to the pub, and force fed insane amounts of alcohol. Still, it was a very nice evening, even if we were feeling a bit delicate this morning!

Son played in Round 1 of his Club Championships today. It’s the biggest comp of the year. He played his best round ever,
and is lying in 2nd place. Round 2 is tomorrow, so if you have some good luck spells to hand, I would be grateful!

Won, I am relieved your news doesn’t seem to be anything bad about your health, which is what I immediately imagind on seeing your original post! I hope we can help when you’re ready to post.
And what wonderful news about your neighbour!!

Graymayne, I’m glad you enjoyed your lunch, and a late Happy Equinox to you. I hope your friend continues to improve. Ooooh, and I have started reading Lady of Hay. So far, so very good!

Lady Hawke, this is why I like talking about books so much, everyone has a different opinion. I thought Delirium was taut with tension from the start, and preferred it to THG, possibly because of it’s subject matter. (I was also disappointed with the final book in THG.) I will wait with anticipation for the sequel, but I think Delirium works well as a stand alone book in itself.

Jen, having potty trained one of each, I will say aiming is not such a potential problem with little girls!

HW, I am so sorry for that poor young man and his family. The intolerance and hate in the world makes me very unhappy. It’s sometimes hard to remember there is love and kindness too.

Lemon, have a fantastic, productive, and hangover free weekend, lol! And I hope the Homecoming is a success and LP has a wonderful time!

Deanie, I’m so pleased the hound is improving, and that is good news about Mr. Deanie! I hope he enjoys his new role.

I hope Mr. Deanie likes his new job. A couple days a week sounds like it might be just the thing. It is hard after working all your life to suddendly be without something to do. I think the biggest thing is not getting to see people and interact on a regular bases. It’s fine for the first few months but then you start feeling like you are missing something.

Asti It sounds like you had a good anniversary. Your son is just so remarkable.

Last week end there were people in and out contionusly. This weekend I am by myself. Everyone has a life but myself. I did tell you that my best friends all passed away. I did make some new friends when we were at the campground but they were couples that we did things together with. I am no longer a couple so we have sort of drifted away which is normal. Any one else I could pal around with lives too far away. Gee I think I am feeling sorry for myself. Lol

Morning all! We have a grey day and it has been wet overnight.

CoolG Which House were you sorted into? I haven’t managed to make a potion yet and have lost patience. I’m not very good at spells either. With regard to finding hidden items in the large chapter pictures just steadily run your mouse over every square inch because things pop up in the most unexpected places. They can appear on more than one of the zoom levels. I have put more detailed hints at PB’s new castle in the new Pottermore section.

I have been re-reading PS/SS and I have realised that some of the items in Pottermore are mentioned in the book. The prefect’s badge is the one that Fred and George hid from Percy over the Christmas holidays for instance. The whole idea of Pottermore is to bring the books alive to each reader as a personal experience. It would probably combine well with the HP CD’s.

Asti I hope the weather is kind to your son’s golfing tournament today.

Mr. Deanie I hope that you enjoy your new part-time job. It is good to feel useful and needed.

I sorted into Gryffindor. I am FeatherHex27. I have been trying to find you but I don’t think I have your Pottermore Name. I’m sure you listed it somewhere but for now I don’t know where. I have started over from the first and I am finding things that I missed on the first go around. Mainly the Chocolate Frog Cards. I think I have all the books. Trouble is the site keeps going down.

CoolG I am PhoenixDragon38, with an Ebony wand with Unicorn hair core, 14 1/2 inches, and a happy member of Hufflepuff.
I have made my own list of the people here and have added the Pottermore names and houses as they were reported, and I store it in my documents on the PC.

My Equinox pics are up, as promised.

Aloha! ;)

Finally my Pottermore email has arrived. I have not yet opened it. I expect it to be a huge time-suck and I need to start a load of laundry and do a few minor things around here first. So Pottermore will wait another half hour without me. ;)

If anyone adds me to a list at Facebook (to which I do not belong) or Newcastle, please do not list my full name, I prefer just Deanie, since the people I interact with online all know that name. Only family use my real name in relatively public places online. ;)

Once I am there, I am BronzeCharm138. ;)

DEANIE, Pottermore is down to overwhelming demand right now anyway. It happens every time a mailing goes out. They still haven’t calculated the enormous bandwidth they need to keep the place up and running.

Hey everyone!!
I’m spending my Sunday doing homework. Oh joy… My Calculus teacher gave us this DVD to watch over the weekend as an intro to the new material she’s going to be teaching. But when I opened mine and put it into the computer, there was a HUGE crack right down the middle. It was nearly broken in half!! So I e-mailed the teacher about it, and she replied telling me that if I had tried to watch it Thursday night, she could’ve given me a different one. \-..-/ This same teacher gave us a ridiculously long test on Friday that nobody could possibly finish. No one in the class even reached the last two pages. So, I’m sorry, but no, I didn’t think to watch the DVD on Thursday night and start learning ahead while I was too busy freaking out about this horrifying test. Sigh…
All right, my ranting’s over. Just needed to get that out…

Wolfie, that’s horrible!! Some people out there are just complete idiots. Even if it wasn’t tecnically a “hate crime”, couldn’t they have been arrested for vandalism or something?? I’ve been lucky enough to grow up in a nice neighborhood and go to a pretty accepting school. I know a few girls who are bisexual or lesbians, and nobody cares or treats them any differently. The most homophobic stuff that goes on is that on occasion, I have to sit through a religion class where the teacher tells it’s a sin. But even then, they tell us to accept people no matter what. So a lot of the time I forget just how cruel some people can be…

LH, you should be able to find rice or pasta with a low glycemic index somewhere. My dad’s a diabetic, and he eats rice all the time. There’s lots of options out there for people with special dietary needs. I agree about telling him to find it for himself. ;) I’m a member of the picky eaters club myself…

Won, I’m giving you {{{{HUGS}}}} for whatever is going on.

Asti, CONGRATS to your son!!!! That’s awesome!!

My dad’s watching the Bills game. We’re losing 24 to 17. I’m praying that our winning streak isn’t over, but I’m not very hopeful. (Yes, two games in a row is a winning streak when it comes to the Bills). ;) But we’re playing the Patriots today (our mortal enemies), and it’d be really, REALLY nice to beat them for once…

Oh, thankyou thankyou thankyou!!

Thankyou all for being so proud of him!

I am so so proud, and so so happy.

This a such a huge acheivement, and coming so soon after his acceptance into the County Academy, really reinforces how good he is becoming.

There is a downside, lol. He is growing out of his golf clubs. He’s getting so tall (I have no idea where he gets that from!) and is growing in strength as he gets older, he needs new clubs. We have taken advice from several pro’s, and they all agree, he is good enough to have clubs custom fitted and basically made to order.

He has such an opportunity to make the most of his talent, we have to do everything we can to maximise his chances. So, we can’t just go to the local golf shop and buy new clubs. We have to do this for him.

This is going to cost at least £1500. This is not an easy sum for us to find, but find it we will.

DS is especially proud. I may have said this before, at least in part, but DS had a lot of potential as a child too. But his parents were very poor, and there was no way they could fund it, and he never even told them he could go further if he had the finances. You can imagine how it makes him feel to know that we can and will be able to help our son.

I can’t remember the last time we even had any “and 0” rating. (Unless it was 0 and 0). Yep. Totally in shock. :D (sorry if anyon’e a Patriots fan…) ;) Woohoo!!!

LemonFaerie Don’t hate me. I’m in Gryffindor and in shock! My wand is vine with dragon, twelve 3/4 inches, supple. My pet is a barn owl. I cannot seem to get the practice potion, but I only tried 3 times and moved on.

I am certain that I have missed a few things along the way, but I also seem to have found quite a bit.

When my computer has hung up (or Pottermore has taken too long to go to the next thing) I have tried refreshing. I started the Sorting 4 times before I could get all the way through it. ;)

I will go read at Newcastle as soon as I start te next load of laundry. ;)

Graymayne Thanks so much for the help. No wonder I couldn’t do it the first time around. None of the letters were turning green and believe me I clicked them all. Lol Got it the third time I tried it this time. I did leave a comment that they should have the instructions where you could read them again. One time for me does not good. Lol

Asti Did I say a big congrats to your son. If I have, it deserves saying again.

HW It’s always nice when your team wins especially if they are far and few between.

My daughter brought some of my winter clothes to me this evening. I had brought the summer ones but left the winter. I hadn’t gone to get them yet because the kids are back in school so noone is home during the day and I try not to drive after dark. It’s a good thing too because it is getting cooler here.

Deanie Good luck with getting into Pottermore. I have been kicked out more times than I can count today.
