Deathly Hallows.

The moment I finished Deathly Hallows, actually. I felt full of patronusses. Even better than 2 day before, when I got the book.

Definitely the day we found out the seventh book was coming out. I emailed everyone I knew and was in a daze until I finished reading it the first time

Actually reading DH! Finishing was cool, but then I was done. Sonorus was top of the list too! (Oooh, caught a new poll… oh, man do I have a lot to catch up on!)

I won a helicopter ride from school, for a leadership thing.

It was really cool. We went over an island, and the beach, and some little townships. It was 15 minutes and i managed to use up all the free space on the memory card in my camera!

The moment I finished the book was actually magical… one of the most intense moments in my whole life

I hear that “Ballet Shoes” with Emma in it is to be shown in New Zealand and Canada. In the UK we get to see it on Boxing Day and I am really looking forward to it. The book was one of my favourites as a youngster; I still have the copy I was given for my 10th birthday!

DEATHLY HALLOWS OF COURSE~

Although I was pretty excited finding out when the book was coming out and when the name was released!

I read the summaries of the tales. Oh my goodness. I hope someone publishes these stories for us.

I must admit I was very ambivolent about the tales. I really did not care if they published the book or not. Now that I read the summary I WANT THE BOOK!!

I was OK until now. NOW I want the stories, I want to enjoy them, savor them, and read them over and over again. Why can’t we have them??

Madame Minerva I must confess to a similar feeling. I was ticked off, actually, at how it was handled. I felt like if it was going to be kept private, then fine, keep it private, don’t dangle them like a carrot in front of all the loyal fans and sell one copy to the highest bidder where it was likely to molder away behind glass in some expensive private collection, never to be seen by most of us. So I had a very negative, jealous, “I’m just going to decide I don’t care or want them” thing going on. It was very Kreacheresque, throw myself on the floor and kick my heels, have a royal tantrum, then turn my nose up at it and ignore it completely kind of thing, very juvenile and spoiled, I admit! But I am SO glad Amazon was the winning bidder and is sharing at least the summaries with us, because OMG, they are wonderful! Far more so than I even thought they would be and now I really am frothing at the mouth with desire over this book! It has made it better (we get to sort of see them) and worse (we don’t get the actual thing!) at the same time. I WANT this book so bad now. I hope, hope, hope that Jo will eventually agree to allow them to be published. She could still have the proceeds go to charity, and I guarantee the profits would far outstrip the $4 mil the one copy got, even after all expenses. Think how happy her charities would be then!

Hmmm, splinched myself! Sorry about that! That is just a sign of how bad I really, really, really want this book now, I had to post twice about my tantrums. :)

I was just watching the sneak peek for HBP again and noticed a few things I was wondering about. Some of the interview snippets take place in areas that we shouldn’t really see again in that movie, like Grimmauld Place and the Ministry. There is also a snip in the RoR. I wonder what they are up to? Also, the little bit of interview with Matthew Lewis has him looking quite rugged and hunky, I wonder if they are going to allow him to grow Neville up a bit. It wouldn’t fit the book Neville too much, at least not until DH, so I wonder if he was there but not filming yet, or what. I remember him saying he really didn’t like his haircut for OoTP, maybe they are giving him more influence over his style.

I cannot wait! It seems like they are getting pretty far along in the filming already, I don’t know why they can’t just kick it into high gear and have it ready for us THIS summer. I think I feel another tantrum coming on, lol.

DUH! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was the highlight of my year. But If I had met JKR that would had been it. But since I fail at life, yeah, Deathly Hallows.

By the way, all, budb is on the news comments these days, I was able to say hi to him on the page with the new summary for the Beedle, I told him hi for everyone.

LEMON, it is good to hear from you too! I hope to stick around for a while! It makes me happy to be here again.

Is that HBP snipet in the video files here at Leaky? I really need to check them out if that is the case. I cannot wait. I keep trying to find out new news on the filming. I hope they make Neville (Matthew) more grown up for the last two movies. I pictured him more confident in his abilities after OotP and maturing.

Lemon I totally agree with you. Why did she do this? Why did she dangle this carrot??

I really did not care too much about the book and who got it since I knew that I could not in a million years get it myself. Ther I read the summaries on Amazon. Now my whole outlook on the book has changed. I feel they could be stories that you would want to read to your children before bed. Just like “Cinderella” and “The Hare and the Tortoise.” I love those stories along with Aesop’s moral Tales. Short stories that had a moral, strong meaning. What a beautiful way to read to a child and start a meaningful conversation on friendship, values and good morals.

I just have no hope that they will ever print these stories. I don’t think they will because then the 7 books she gave as gifts will not be unique anymore.

Would they be just as valuable if everyone had a copy? Would they still be valuable because they were handwritten by JKRowling and ours would be printed? Would the $3.8 Million investment that Amazon made depreciate if the book was published and we all had a printed copies of this book?

If the answer is that in order for the 7 books to stay valuable we will need to be denied access to this book. Then I believe there is no hope for us to have this book ever.

At least with a new poll, I’m caught back up! :-)Obviously, my vote was for the release of Deathly Hallows. After all, I’m the one who had an agreement with my daughter that if something happened to me before the book was released, she would sit at my grave and read it out loud to my ashes.

I’m also glad that Amazon was the one with the winning bid. I hope that eventually JKR will allow them to publish it.

My guess about the Beedle book – it will get published eventually. Probably wait one or a couple of years for the owners to enjoy its uniqueness first.

Sorry I’ve been quiet, but things have been chaotic here. I’ve accepted a visiting position up in Maine, and needed to get the classes ready, find a place to live, and all the details. So, living on the beach in Maine as of next month…

Reading Deathly Hallows…. It was amazing :) It gave me tinglies.

Beedle book should be released, there are too many of us waiting with bated breath for it.

As Mollywobbles can tell you, we’ve had some interesting discussions about the possibilities of the Tales coming out. My guess is yes, based on how tings have been done in the past, what we know about JKR as a person, and so on. The questions then become when and how, right?

I personally think that a small book like Quiddtich through the Ages or Fantastic Beasts would work, or even a nice hard cover like a kids book. And I think a preface by Hermoine Jean Granger would be a nice touch!

Others have suggested—and its a good point—that the Tales might show up in the Encyclopedia; a psoter named roonwit thought they might even show up on JKR’s website, possibly for Christmas.

We’ll just need to see, huh?
