Voldemort’s first ‘death’ was on Halloween. His final one was on the night of the Walpurgis (not sure about this) which is actually Halloween(April 30th) in the southern hemisphere…the exact opposite of northern Hallloween(October 31st) is on the night of the Walpurgis. Muddy? LOL

Am trying to catch up (still back at pg 223). Back when I can flurk again.

I’ve skimmed through so I feel like I’m back on track. I didn’t take notes, though, so no long catch up post. ;)

JOSEPHINE, to add to the creepy synchronicity of it, Adolf Hitler died Apr. 30 as well. PB pointed it out.

It never ceases to amaze me at the intricate planning done by JKR in every detail of her story. She has made no secret of the correlation between the Death Eaters and the Nazis, thus connecting Hitler to Voldemort. It is quite interesting the seige and overturn of another monster occurred on roughly the same calendar.

LH, I went to a numerology blog & pointed out that Bin Laden’s death occured on May the 1st, exactly 66 years after Hitler’s death was announced to the world… May the 1st is 5/1… 5+1=6… That’s 666!!! loooool

LadyHawke, I forgot about that. My hubby mentioned it last night too. It is really creepy.

Won, that is crazy about the numbers! LOL.

My daughter’s classmate keeps repeating 2012 is the end of the world (he was quite impressed with the movie, ha!) and another friend keeps saying it’s the Revelations coming true.

Hi, Deanie waving madly .

I’m not yet caught up. Back later.

I’ve caught up very quickly………….

I enjoyed watching the wedding with Lady Hawke, Lemon, Korey, Jen and Graymayne very much, thankyou all! It was really nice to be online with a bunch of other people, all remarking and chatting, it was fun!

We had a fab weekend away. The highlight was rockpooling. So much fun, and it took me right back to my childhood! I’m completely worn out, lol.

It’s also good to see you’re all safe and well. xx

Well, the sister is actually on her way. I don’t even know how long she will be with us, but i hope my less-than-stellar housekeeping doesn’t run her off. ;)

There is twice a year craft fair next weekend that I hope she can stay to go to with us. It is in a little wide-spot-in-the-road town. The whole populace of the town is involved in running it. The local Lions Club sells boiled or roasted peanuts and brooms (I don’t know why). The police department (all 5 of them) handle traffic. The high school sells strawberry sundaes. it is held in the house and farm buildings of the “manor”, really a 10 room farm house. They have antiques in the old carriage house and fabric crafts in the former seed house and fine needlework in the main house. The cotton barn is used for general crafts and furniture that is not good enough to be “antique”.

They hold it the first weekend of May and October. It’s called the Cotton Pickin’ Fair in Gay Georgia. We enjoy it and i know my sister likes craft fairs, but they don’t get big ones in Oklahoma. ;)

Hometime in 20. ;)

Bbt. ;)

ASTI, it is good to have you back. I thought of you while you were on your seaside trip. I forget that you don’t go lie on white sand beaches in the baking sun when you go to the seaside at the end of April and early May. Walking on the beach and exploring tidal pools is more appropriate to the weather.

DEANIE, I ’m in the mood for a craft/anitique fair about now.

Nothing for Dan. :(

But the show itself did get several nominations, so that’s still good. The noms are:
Revival of a Musical (it’s only against Anything Goes so there’s a 50/50 chance, LOL)
Featured Actor for John Larroquette
Featured Actress for Tammy Blanchard (Hedy La Rue)
Direction and Choreography for Rob Ashford
plus Orchestrations, Costumes, and Lighting Design

Aside from being disappointed for Dan, I also wish they’d gotted a nod for Scenic Design, which I’d thought was great. Still, 8 nominations is pretty good; it was one of the ones named most often, I think. The other ones that kept popping up were The Book of Mormon and Scotsboro Boys

Aloha! ;)

Still hanging in here. Justifying my existance. ;)

My sister arrived and she could at least get to the freshly made bed. She did not get here until 9:00 last night, and she will be leaving Friday morning. We don’t have a lot planned, so she should be well rested by then. I think she needs the rest, she’s been chasing around after a 6 year old grandson for the lat 6 weeks or so. His nanny was on maternity leave. ;)

Off to try and make some headway with the file cleanup operation. ;)

Laundry time.

JEN, too bad there was no nomination for Dan but at least the show is getting some respect.

If a modern southern hears the name Scottsboro we tend to think of the Unclaimed Baggage Center, probably one of the only reasons to go to Scottsboro. They have a 40,000 square foot building there, filled with the contents of the “lost luggage” from airlines. I had to look up the history of Scottsboro Boys to see what the show was about since the name Scottsboro means shopping to me.

DEANIE, that is too bad your sister is going to be there during your work week and will be leaving before the arts and crafts fair.

Good evening!

I spent my afternoon off having a fun time with my washing machine. I can’t believe the amount of dirty clothes produced by a 4 day break. Yomping on the beach and playing in pools of sea water didn’t help I suppose, lol.

I’m fed up already of being back in the gotoworkfoodshopschoolruncookteadolaundry. At least I got to play the piano a bit. I missed the piano.

Deanie, I hope you have a lovely time with your sister, even if you won’t see that much of her.

A friend of my DS just sent us and email. He knows someone who works for the Corps of Engineers and says the Mayor of Memphis has elected not to tell the citizens the worse, that the river is probably going to crest at 56 feet, not 48 feet. If that happens it is likely there will be no ability to flush a toilet or take a bath. This man is recommending everyone lay in bottled water for drinking, cooking, and washing.

If the river really does crest that high large portions of downtown Memphis will go under. I find that very hard to believe. Downtown Memphis is up high on those bluffs. I simply can’t see the water coming up into downtown.

I had become quite satisfied after looking at the 100 year and 500 year flood plane maps that none of our family was going to have any trouble. I still don’t think we’ll flood but now I’m worried about the possibility of having no plumbing.

ASTI, can you imagine the “come down” of having been the bride at that Fairy Tale of a wedding on Friday and be back to the washer, dryer, and dinner making routine today? Apparently she is manning her own scrub brushes. That seems too quick a transition from Princess to housewife in four days. I know they say that is what she wants but really…the transition seems a bit abrupt.

Lady Hawke, lol, yes, the difference must be quite extreme, and far worse than mine! But, I think they’re being very sensible, continuing to live simply and alone, and doing their own dishes. I’m sure Catherine’s making sure the housework is shared!
I think The Royal Family have learned a lot from the fiasco’s of Charles and Andrew’s marriages. Both their brides were thrust into public life far far too soon. I’m pretty sure William has had a lot to say about what is expected of his wife. They’re visiting Canada in a few months, and will have public duties next year for the Jubilee, but I think for the next few years, they’ll try and live as ordinarily as possible.
There has been a huge upsurge of support for the Royal Family here over the past few months………as demonstrated by the crowds at the wedding. One of the reasons is that William and Catherine seem such an ordinary couple. Yes, I know their lives arn’t and can’t be like our own, but it makes a difference for us to see them living simply. Also, William is the “heir to the heir;” so although they are the bright young things, there isn’t so much pressure on him.
I hope they have a chance of some privacy.
I still think it’s very sweet that it was William who appeared to be the most nervous at the wedding. And Philippa’s bottom in her dress almost crashed Twitter. I also love all the hysterical things I’m finding about Princess Beatrice’s hat. What was she thinking?! (Though she did look marginally better dressed than her sister!)

I saw someone describe Princess Eugenie’s dress as a modern take on a Colonial American 18th century/Martha Washington dress without the underskirts, plus badly cut and fit.

I was so startled by Princess Beatrice’s hat that it took me quite some time to realize the coat dress she was wearing were actually lovely.

I just picked up the Collector’s Edition of People Magazine and was disappointed to see they wasted part of the space on other celebrities. It seemed to be mostly lots of photos we have already seen over and over with very little text or anything to read. I expected the People Magazine Collector’s Edition to have all the photos and articles I’ve already seen in the online version of the magazine plus some things that haven’t been online. I suppose it is a matter of having something you can hold in your hands. I’m going to shop around for one such publication but I wasn’t impressed with People.

I saw this morning they are already talking of sending William to the Falkland’s next year. Why would they separate them in the second year of their marriage, during the “first two years” they were meant to live alone as a couple? Also, it is very difficult for the heir to the heir to produce another level of heirs from the Falklands. One reality of modern times and modern marriages is that Catherine is not getting any younger. Already it starts. She is not 20 years old. She is almost 30 and since her main job task as a Royal is to produce heirs she really does need to get busy.

Asti Kit Berry’s fourth Stonewylde book will be out in August, but check out the re-vamped website for news about the republication of the first three.

It was Pippa’s ribcage that scared me. She looked as though a good meal would kill her.

On a personal note my daughter came home with no homework today. She said they prepared their textbooks to return to the school library tomorrow. They have 3 1/2 weeks left in school and their textbooks are being turned in for the year. This is not a surprise to me but it is still shocking.
