yeah, I couldn’t vote either!
It’s a little sad saying goodbye to our other comment section…:-(
I havent’ been able to vote either since they changed the format of the website. Each time I open the site, it has the results already displayed and I can’t get to the orginal survey part. For the record I’ve read #7 2 times.
oops! tech error. I’ve only read it twice not 72!
Holy red eyes batman!~0 72 times! Shannon LOL:) Thanks for the typo giggle:)
I have gone through it three times, two reads and one audiobook. I could vote either.
I can’t get back to the old poll to see what I missed either.
I’ve read it 1.13 times.
HouseElf, I got back to it by going into my history and clicking on one from yesterday:) I hope that helps:)
Rats! I can’t go back to the last poll and catch up on posts. Oh well.
If I could have voted I would have chosen “one”. I need a little break from the intensity of DH before diving back in. It’s also a treat that I’m saving, since – for me – a second reading is like a brand new reading in many ways and this will be the last time I can do that with HP. :(

I’ve read it 5 and a half times. I would have read more but my teacher keeps piling on the “set reading” >:(
I think the voters broke….....I have read it twice wish to read it more just dont have the time…..
Not sure if it will work (haven’t tried it yet), but i was actually in the poll just closed, and was able to retrieve the URL http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2007/7/22/deathly-hallows/comments/85
i am such a nerd.
I couldn’t vote either, but I read it one and a half times. That means I read the last half twice because I rushed through it the first time round because I wanted to know how it ends. :c)
Today I ordered the audiobook, though. It should arrive tomorrow. And as I have so much to do with leaving my head free, I will be through it a second time soon.
Thanks budb for the link. At least I am able to catch up now.
Does anyone now why the Past-Polls-Page is not working? It says it is not converted. I thought that would mean the polls before, but this one was already set up on the new system so it should show. scratchesheadwondering
I’ve read the book twice, it’s really good. Anyone who’s already read the book over five times needs some friends or something: that’s one seriously anti-social life.
Dumblemort I don’t think it’s antisocial. One can read 5 different books or the same book 5 times. That doesn’t make me or anyone else not see my/their friends!
Read DH TWICE. I also can not figure out how to vote. Perhaps the utility is not working?
Can’t vote. Have read it four times. First time too fast, second and third slower and with feeling, fourth with notes.
By the way Dumblemort I have read each of the others seven times apiece. It just gets better with every reading.
Thanks CHIB! I found the old poll by tracking down my history, so I’m caught up now! Ummm… I forgot what I was going to say from there though! (What a doofus!)
Thanks HouseElf, for reminding me that I don’t have to wait until I have time to sit down to continue my second DH reading. I can listen to my cds! ...although since I bought those with roadtrips in mind, now I realize I don’t have a portable cd player to use while I walk… darn! At least I have the car and the old boom-box in the house!
(Now if I could just remember what I was going to say…)
X)
Couldn’t vote. Wouldn’t know how to answer anyway.
I’ve read it once to myself all the way through. I’ve read bits and pieces and chapters of it to my husband from about 1/2 way through I finished it out loud to him. I’ve gone about half way with my daughter out loud. I’m now on my second personal read through, just starting The Battle of Hogwarts. And I’ve read a lot of it over in bits and pieces and chapters to recheck specific information for myself.
I was getting comfortable with the old poll conversation. I miss it.
You’re so welcome Mollywobbles:) Glad to help:)♥

I have read DH once and listened to the auido book 2 times. I am re-listening to HBP right now and will then listen to DH again.
I can’t vote either…
Technically, I’ve read it twice.
To slow myself down when the book came out, I read the previous days chapters before moving on. For example, on July 21st at midnight, I read the first 7 chapters. Later that day (after a couple of hours sleep) I read the first 7 chapters again before going on to new stuff.
I can’t vote either. I wonder who the lucky 8 people who did are.
I’m off to read the final part of the old polls comments, then it’s naptime. ;)
Oh, yes – I’ve read it about one and a quarter times and I’ve listened to it once. I suppose that makes it 2 and a bit. ;)
Bbl. ;)
i could not vote either, nor on the last one! but i read it 2, and am in the middle of my third one for the record… XD
Hey, I just saw Creech on the other comments section. I guess I am dumb, but you have to drop the URL letters on budb’s address to get the old comments. It took me a while to figure that one out.
budb – Holdover from the last discussion.
In CoS chapter 3, Harry is in the kitchen and “The clock on the wall opposite him had only one hand and no numbers at all. Written around the edge were things like Time to make tea, Time to feed the chickens and You’re late.”
That is the first clock. The one in the kitchen at the Burrow.
The second clock is first seen in GoF chapter 10, and they are obviously not in the kitchen because they are doing various things and rain is lashing the living room window. This clock is the one with 9 hands.
Did that clarify it? ;)
Bbl. ;)
Dumblemort, reading a book over five times isn’t antisocial – criticizing someone for doing so is.
Mollywobbles, thanks for the laugh! I haven’t heard (or read) the word “doofus” in ages! It really is a funny word, I think I’m going to start using it again! haha! :) By the way, you’re not one – you were just pulling a “Cordelia” – I’m completely useless unless I take notes as I read the comments.
I was reading about Jane Austen’s life last night and I found out that she had a brother named George who was deaf and mute. That Jo Rowling is such a clever genius!!!! I wonder if she planned for George Weasley to lose an ear when she first started the series as a nod to her favorite author.
I’ve read it 4 times have listened one and a half time so.. that makes it five and a half :D Love the books to much
btw: Is there someone who can tell me how to vote?
I’ve read it 4 times. The first time, I inhaled it in 26 hours with little sleep and a big break. The re-read was good, but I could not put it down. I had to read it 2 more times. Now I’m re-reading the whole series.
Cordelia You’re right! I just read that same thing in Becoming Jane 2 days ago and didn’t put that together. Brilliant. See, don’t you just want to talk to JKR for hours to find out what’s coincidence or planned?
I’m so tired. I didn’t get picked for a jury, but I was in the overly air-conditioned courthouse for 6 hours. I panicked when I saw our poll was gone. Wish I could vote. Do you have to tap something with your wand?
Hi:) I’ve read it 2 times and have been planning my 3rd:) I could not vote. How do you vote on these polls now?
