Quick pop in, will catch up later, but also got my Pottermore email tonight and am NOT happy. Ravenclaw. That was always my second House, so okay, fine, but that is just not right. The Hat is wrong, I don’t care what the site or Jo or anyone else says. I am a GRYFFINDOR.

I have know turned on the Weather Channel to get up to minute news about the Hurricane. I was watching a show on the History Channel Mega Disaters and they were talking about how a catorgory 3 would cause a lot of devestation for NY City. They were also talking about the Hurricane of 1938. Stay safe everyone in this path.

I went to the New Castle to see if anyone had posted about Pottermore. So far just Ava. Wonder how long it will be for the rest of us?

Lemon Faerie I am so sorry that you have not been sorted into Gryffindor, I know how passionate you are about this:( I would be equally mad if I were to be sorted into Slytherin!

Won_Two I agree with LH, people died in the Japanese tsunami because they didn’t leave the instant they knew the danger. Stay safe everbody! I hope that Daniel will take care in NY, he won’t be used to violently extreme weather.

I’m quite curious about the types of questions and variety of answers available from which to choose on the sorting test. It appears that it is next to impossible to direct oneself where one thinks one wants to go on this thing. I know LEMON would have been choosing the answers that felt most Gryffindor to her.

We have now had two of our known Gryffindors go to other Houses. I can’t wait to find out if JEN stays in RAVENCLAW. Sorry, AVA, I can’t remember what house you are in (Slytherin?). Anyway, I’ll be anxious to hear how you sorted.

I really wonder what the filter is on Jo’s test. I wonder if there isn’t one salient point buried in all those questions that plops you in one house or another. Is that possible or were the questions more thoughtful than that?

Anyway, those are things I would like to discuss at the New Castle.

COOLG, I think they are saying IRENE will only be a category 1 by the time it reaches NYC, still a hurricane but not at category 3. We don’t need another Katrina in NYC.

That’s right, GRAYMAYNE, Dan is about to have an adventure in NYC even if IRENE is only a category 1 when it arrives. They are saying you need to stay off the street to stay out of the flying debris, that you should not go outside to take photos and watch it.

GRAYMAYNE, I must agree. Slytherin is the House that would make me feel shaken to my core, even realizing that is the House to which some of us aspire. That is the only House that would make my head spin.

Both Gryffindor and Ravenclaw feel more “desirable” and “fanciable” to me than the other two Houses. Gryffindor is so chivalrous and daring and Ravenclaw is so lofty in their group intellectual superiority (disregarding Gryffindor Hermione as the top of the class). Reality tells me Hufflepuff is what I will see pop up at the end of my test. The yellow and the “unexciting” aspect of Hufflepuff makes me wistful for something more “flashy” but I will go where I am sent, as directed, with only a bit of whining. I guess that is what makes me a Hufflepuff and I’m getting my whining out of the way in advance.

Looks like a real, real, real bad weekend ahead for anyone on, or within 50 miles of the US East Coast…
The most recent computer forecasting models put the storm track right over the coastline & running between The Outer Banks up to Southern NJ… This puts the eye wall of a Cat 2 or 3 within 10 miles of me on Sunday morning… That is like having a 2 hour long F-1 tornado running over your house… I guess Kippy & I will be heading for the hills of W. Virginia.

WON, do you know some nice place to stay that you can call ahead and make reservations so you can make something of a holiday of it instead of just hunkering down in a Motel 8 on the side of the freeway? Some place with nice restaurants and cute store fronts and/or artisan shops?

LH, there is a casino run by Indians in the WV, foothills… Good food, nice rooms, and they will allow Kippy as long as I keep her in a cage… I will go there I suppose.

Call and make a reservation. You don’t know how many people will have the same idea.

Well, the tornado warning has expired,,, There is a severe thunderstorm and flash flood warning in effect… It is ‘flashing & booming’ quite a bit, but I am at a high enough elevation that I do not anticipate any flooding here unless a 100 foot tall tsunami hits the Potomac tidal basin!
