Terms of Use for Commenting on The Leaky Cauldron

By posting a comment on The Leaky Cauldron, you agree to the following Terms of Use:

Do not post any comments that contain flames, “curse” words, telephone numbers, addresses, or any private (i.e. not reported in the press) information about any of the actors in any HP films. Flaming includes but is not limited to insults or harassment of others based on actual or perceived gender, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, religion, magical status or lack thereof, Hogwarts house, national origin, political affiliation, character preference, or “ship” preference. Do not post a comment that is that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy or hateful. Insults will be immediately deleted.

Post only a comment that is on topic and/or related to the subject of the news report that you are commenting on, or is in response to a comment posted by another user. You may not repost a comment just to make it more visible.

Do not post commercial advertising, or plugs for your website, fanfic, message board or mailing list unless it is directly related to the subject matter contained in the news report that you are commenting about.

Do not use comments to urge readers to join a group, convert to a belief or sign a petition.

Do not impersonate the reporters or editors of TLC, or any other person, including but not limited to J.K. Rowling, or post any comment designed to to interfere with or disrupt the any part of TLC.

You agree to indemnify and hold TLC, and its subsidiaries, affiliates or other partners, as well as its staff, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third party due to or
arising out of comments you post using the system.

Do not post comments if you are under 13 years of age. TLC strives to be in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy & Protection Act, also known as COPPA; accordingly, we cannot accept posts from children under 13. However, if you have a comment for us, or a news report, and you are under 13, you can email us at [email protected].

If you wish to provide TLC with a news report, it’s best not to post it as a comment – we may not see it in a timely manner; email it to [email protected] instead.
