The Waco Tribune has an article about plans for the Lone Star State and Book V.
Incidently, we've only got two listings of Book V events in Texas, aside from Hastings, Borders and Barnes & Noble which are all book chains. If you know any we're missing, please let us know.

Movie Trio NOT Making Book V Appearance

There is a rumor on the Web that Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint will be making a June 21/Book V appearance - we've received word from a couple of places (including WB) that says this is not true. The word is that the movies are not to mix up with the books (and shouldn't, in my opinion!).Continued...

Borders Finally Announces Release Plans

Borders Group Inc put out a press release today announcing their store plans for the Book V release. All Borders stores will be open past 12am with some great plans - Herbology lessons in Indiana, Diagon Alley in Missouri and the Great Hall in Massachusetts.

According to the National Post, Canadian mathematician Dr. Ivar Ekeland blames Harry Potter, at least in part, for the decline in children's interest in the sciences. Ekeland "says the magic and sorcery glorified by the popular books discourage children from wanting to understand the real world through science."Continued...

Chris Rankin AKA Percy Weasley Takes Part in Book V Events

ChrisRankin.com has announced that Chris Rankin, who plays the role of Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, will be participating in 3 Book V launch events - one in Norwich for the midnight release and two on Saturday; one in Barking and another in Windsor.

Surprise - Potter said to break all records

The BBC picked up an article from the Wall Street Journal today on some of the stats for book sales in the US.

Scholastic will ship 8.5 million copies of the book to shops in time for its release.

The marketing campaign will cost between $3-4m (£1.8-2.5m).
