Edinburgh Seeks Literary World Capital Title
Jo Rowling's hometown of Edinburgh seeksto be declared the world capital of literature, a title that could draw such ceremonies as the Whitbread and the Nobel Prize for Literature. The BBC reports that many of the cities best-known writers, including Jo Rowling, are backing the campaign.

A Time Turner for Charity
The Scotsman reports that Jo Rowling donated a time turner from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban to a charity auction in benefit of Edinburgh's Maggie's Centre, which supports cancer patients.
