Crafter of the Month
Hogwarts’ Brie in Puff Pastry
Preparation Time
25 minutesIngredients
Small Brie cheese roundPackaged puff pastry sheet
Milk or egg wash
Apricot preserves (optional)
Dried cranberries (optional)
Instructions
Wrap the pastry sheet around a small round of Brie cheese, sealing the raw edges together underneath. You can use the pastry scraps to make a design on top of the Brie, like the Hogwarts shield with the H, a lightning bolt, wizard hat, owl, etc.
You can add to the layer between the pastry and the Brie if you like. My favorite is spreading apricot preserves and sprinkling dried cranberries on the pastry before wrapping the Brie, but the cranberries make it lumpy, so that could mar your design, which is why I left this one plain.
Place on greased foil on a cookie sheet.
Brush with milk of egg wash for nice browning.
Bake in the over at 400 ºF for 15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
Serve on a plate with a spreader and your preferred assortment of crackers.
