Dude, Where’s My Movie?!

Right, so, the movie being moved from November till July ’ was I upset? Sure. But I chose to gloss over it, cause I don’t like complaining about stuff (I needed you to know that before you kept reading…). I’d wait, of course I would, I knew the end product would be amazing!

But of course, I was expecting Half-Blood Prince.

So what the bleep is this movie that’s allegedly being released in its name?!

(Don’t read on if you do not want to know any details from the screening reports. I haven’t read it all myself but it will feature some snippets about the Harry/Ginny stuff and the storylines surrounding it).

¦

Right. Okay. Adding another scene to symbolize what’s happening with Voldemort I get. I even welcome this new scene, as it’s almost like canon but new, and also a chance for Ginny to shine. But¦ am I getting this right? Are they a) changing the context of the H/G kiss and b) being totally bizarre about the entire plot of the Prince’s book and how Harry hides it?! First of all WB, if a scene is good and the fans love it, DON’T CHANGE IT. Did they learn nothing from Remember Cedric Diggory? Sometimes I wonder if they even listen to fans and take their opinions into consideration. As an H/G shipper (which ironically I established in my previous post) I am kind of in shock about the kiss change ’ I don’t think I’ve quite let it sink in yet that we won’t get our glorious Quidditch-aftermath-common-room kiss and that instead it’s been replaced by what seems to be described as a chaste peck on the lips while Harry’s eyes are closed (for all we know he could be thinking about Hermione. Which I’m sure Kloves is imagining) in the Room of Requirement. The frickin kissing room where Harry takes all his ladyfriends. I mean, really?! I feel so cheated. Then of course is the fact that Hermione and Ginny devise a plot to hide the HBP book so Harry can’t find it. That’s all I read of the synopsis but my guess is that this is far from the only thing that’s changed about the plot. I read something about toothpaste? Hermione does not smell toothpaste! She smells parchment and freshly mown grass and ˜oh’, and that’s what she smells. I’m sure that scene will be cute, and I understand that they have to change stuff around a bit to condense the plot. I understand that they have to make the audience understand tensions between characters and thoughts that come across better on paper, I do. Dean told Parvati to tell Seamus to tell the Giant Squid that this is what they do in the Potter films. But what I do not understand is why they decided to write an entirely different version of the story. Sorry, but where’s my movie? It’s not in November, but it’s sure as Merlin’s tighty withies not in July either, because that is a completely different film. There’s a reason the books are so popular WB¦ get a clue.
