I loved the Sectumsempra scene too. It was really brilliantly well done, Tom Felton has evolved into an utterly brilliant actor, it was amazing.

Great review Jon. I’m amazed you manage to take in so many details of the musical score. I have to admit I hardly noticed the music. But then, I’ve only seen it the once. I’m afraid the budget doesn’t stretch to multiple viewings at the cinema. I’ll have to wait till it comes out on DVD to analyse it in more detail.

Yes, good summary of pros and cons! I like it when the reviews come from people who know what they are talking about ;)…I thought it was a fantastic film as a film- acting, directing, photography, etc… but of course i missed many details that should have been there. Especially missed the Dursleys…I really wanted to see Dumbledore interact with them. And i agree about the memories- to leave the Gaunts out, especially Merope, seems wrong. Voldemort’s background needs to be shown and understood by Muggle viewers {I call them film Squibs- ppl who love the films but dont read the books- like my hubby :)}
