The many faces of Petunia Dursley

July 27, 2009, 05:30 AM

"Where there is no jealousy there is no love." - German ProverbThis is going to be a rather short blog – on the delightful Petunia Dursley, who I can’t claim is one of my all time favourite characters (to say the least), she’s obnoxious and cruel aswell as quite bitter and spiteful. However today I’m going to be talking about the many faces of Petunia. I know we get a description of her in the books but it is strange the amount of different portrayals we have of her;              ...

That Notorious Notion Nostalgia

July 23, 2009, 08:35 AM

Sticking it to GCSE’s – waiting for results and feeling like I’ve fallen into the first part of Half Blood Prince while contemplating exam results which haven’t come out yet, I was taking my mind off things by contemplating the notion of Nostalgia which I suppose is what my whole blog is about.   As you may know, I am a sixteen year old girl who has had a fascination with Harry Potter for over ten years but, like many fans, the people which I am truly fascinated with are the older...

The Hogwarts Drug Policy.

July 20, 2009, 03:02 PM

Warning: this blog discusses drug consumption.   Hello guys, first I would like to apologise for my lapse of attention which concluded in me posting the wrong blog yesterday – this is the correct one!   This is in light of Jamie Waylett’s recent drug charge for possession and growing of cannabis and being just posted the revised drug policy from my school; I have been wondering if any of the characters that befall into my category of blog (i.e. The Marauders and the people at Hogwarts...

Pettigrew has a problem

July 19, 2009, 11:00 AM

Eek, it’s been a while! I am so sorry about this – my utterly inept loging-in skills prevented me from remembering my password and everything else to get in to this blog, but I am here now and this one of my old blogs which I’ve not managed to show you.   OK, It’s a given that I am not Peter’s biggest fan to have ever walked the planet, so this’ll probably be the most biased blog I have ever created but I am going to talk about why he broke off from his Gryffindor roots to become...

My Slippery Friend... And his soundtrack!

October 08, 2008, 10:40 PM

HAPPY BANNED BOOKS WEEK! OK, first I would like to publicly send out my hatred to the system of GCSE’s at my school which means that I have ended up doing TWELVE instead of the average of eight! It wasn’t so bad last year, but now I am wacked! Anyhoo… It is Sunday and although I have a little prep, it’s not nearly as much as before, this is why I am able to write this… :D Today my friends, I am going to talk about a man who can edge out of any tight spot, is always in the clear and...

Oh! Mr Goat Man!

September 19, 2008, 02:26 AM

Hey guys, firstly I am going to quickly condemn the stupid amount of work teachers give you in GCSE year, and now… I will return to my main topic of discussion… Aberforth Dumbledore! I am known with my friends to absolutely ADORE this old man, ever since the Deathly Hallows came out. So in a break between my Chemistry write up and my History essay I have decided to write about the lesser known, lesser appreciated Dumbledore son. Even though I say he is lesser appreciated, I agree with Albus...

Breaking Ties and Loyalty

September 07, 2008, 02:25 PM

Hey guys, I’m sorry it’s been a while… School started this week again and teachers have been pummelling us year elevens with the knowledge that our mocks are in January! Anyway, I’m back now, thanks to Sunday being my only free day, and I’d like to talk about Wormtail! OK, It’s a given that I am not Peter’s biggest fan to have ever walked the planet, so this’ll probably be the most biased blog I have ever created but I am going to talk about why he broke off from his Gryffindor...

Just your average psyco!

August 27, 2008, 04:04 PM

Well here I am again! OK, I am in a seriously good mood so I feel that it is about time to do a blog on a delightfully, psychopathic woman; you know who I’m talking about… the amazing, the sadistic, Bellatrix Lestrange! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Bellatrix’s ideals and mannerisms are the most reasonable or kind (at ALL). But I do believe that she is an extremely interesting character, or should I say WAS an extremely interesting character, thanks to good, old Mollywobbles! I...

Musing over Moony

August 19, 2008, 12:13 AM

Hello again, It's been a while. I'm back from H.K. and have a computer again! YAAY! Anyway, onto more pressing matters... Remus "Moony" John Lupin Birth - 10th March 1960 Death - 2nd May 1998 Remus has always been one of my favourite characters in the series; yes I refuse to call him 'Lupin'. He's very loving and kind man... if a little too much of a worrier! His and Tonks’ relationship is a brilliant back-story in the books and I hope they show it in the film *secretly fumes at the news of...

Growing up with a growing threat!

August 05, 2008, 07:26 AM

Hello again! Today I am sitting in my dad's hotel room, on his extremley slow laptop, ready to write another blog, so here goes... Growing up in the 60's/70's in Britain probably didn't seem like the most strenuous task someone can undertake, my own parents did it! :D. But, it seems that growing up in wizarding Britain was a different matter all together! I was trying to work out exactly how the younger generation of this time would have been affected by the ever growing threat of Voldemort and...

Justify our maraudering ideals...

July 31, 2008, 10:17 AM

Just stepping into the average Harry potter forum and finding a thread about the Marauders is all the proof you need that we have got extremley firm sterotypes over these for men even though we don't know an exceptional lot about them. I know this might sound pedantic, but I really think that we obtained our stereotypes from unconfirmed sources, at first. We started putting these predjudices out there back after Prisoner of Azkaban, the first time we ever really found out anything about this...

How it started...

July 29, 2008, 07:30 AM

Hello. This blog is about the characters and events which happend in the First War. A lot of what I will be talking about will be entwined with the Marauder Era as the two eras are closley linked. These eras in Harry Potter history have always fascinated many fans, myself included. Maybe it's because it is very much like a period we know a lot about, The second war, maybe it's because it's when Voldemort started to become really powerful or maybe it's because many of us are enthrawled by the...
