Its been a while since I have made a blog post, a lot has happened in the past month. I've moved, started a new job, got a new kitten, and finally sat down and read the entire Twilight Series. As I sit here writing this, I can't help but think of Harry Potter in a new light. I have Harry, A History sitting next to my night stand as I'm attempting to read it, Beetle the Bard is coming out within the next few days, and I'm happy. Harry Potter has brought me a new family,...Comments (2)
Hi everyone, so sorry to be absent for so long, but I'm in the process of a big move and have been so busy I barely have time for anything else. As I sit here I don't really have much left to pack, just stuff I don't want to deal with. I have my wand at the ready trying to use some of the packing spells Tonks used in OotP but sadly they aren't working. I'm trying to think of what Snape would do if faced with a big move, and frankly I can't think of anything. He seems to me to...Comments (2)
I'm taking a slight break from the normal Snape love to help out with banned book week/awareness. I was asked to read from a banned book and explain why I read what I did, and I chose the Bible.Comments (1)
"I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death — if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach." As I'm sitting here at my computer trying to think of just one topic on Snape I think about starting at the beginning. I absolutely love the quote for this blog, and with many schools starting this past month there are a lot of teachers out there who may appreciate this quote as well. Whenever you embark on a journey of any kind, whether it be the first...Comments (6)
"He hasn't been doing your orders, he promised my mother –" "Of course that is what he would tell you, Draco, but –" "He's a double-agent, you stupid old man, he isn't working for you, you just think he is!" "We must agree to differ on that, Draco. It so happens that I trust Professor Snape –" "Well, you're losing your grip, then!" sneered Malfoy. I've recently come back from Terminus where I met many Snape fans, and many people who still find Severus a bad person. I ran into those people...Comments (5)
"Snape was looking as though the first person to ask him for a Love Potion would be force-fed poison." I think what makes Professor Snape so interesting is the subtle humor that JK Rowling has with him. In the quote above, Snape is seen as stern, but it was written in a way that just makes you smile. Poor Snape has never really been given a break throughout his life, so his ways seem to be rude, mean, and down right nasty, but one has to admit that he does everything with a lot of emotion and...Comments (7)
"It comes down to whether or not you trust Dumbledore’s judgment. I do; therefore, I trust Severus." We know that Severus Snape did not have the best home life, and that he knew (loved) Lily Evans. We also find out that he does have the capacity to love, in fact, it was his decision to love Lily that caused most of the events in the Harry Potter series. So, knowing this...where exactly did this man come from? What has made him the man that he is today? I find that these two questions are the...Comments (10)
I hope that you will all find it nice and cozy here as we talk about Professor Severus Snape, his life before and during the Harry Potter Series, and those people in different series that are so darn easy to hate, but we still have to like/appreciate them in the end. I fell in love with Snape the moment he saved Harry in the Quidditch match in PS/SS. It seemed to me, to be too easy to point my finger at him and say that he was the "bad" guy. I knew he was protecting Harry...little did I know...Comments (5)
Welcome to my blog where we get to discuss everything Snape, from is he in the right house, to should we be nice to those people who are so easy to hate? I'm Abbey, your host on the journey. I'm currently looking for the meaning of life while sharing my love of Severus Snape along the way through moderating the Leaky Lounge.
If you'd like to send Abbey a note or a suggestion please email her.
