JKR, JRR to Take Top Spots on Top 100 List

This is London reports that JKR and JRR Tolkien are to take the top spots in the UK national survey of the top 100 books of all time when the list is whittled down to 20 books in the fall.

Thanks to MuggleNet for pointing us to the DarkHorizons report today stating that actor Peter Best has gotten the "small" role of Walden MacNair, the executioner of Buckbeak.
However very little is known about the actor and we're currently seeking information on him including a picture.

We've just received a release that confirms the rumored date of June 4, 2004 for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban's release date. There is a rumor on the Web that Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint will be making a June 21/Book V appearance - we've received word from a couple of places (including WB) that says this is not true. The Sun seems to be back on track with legit news - in this morning's paper they have a picture of Michael Gambon on the set of PoA - complete with a beard-brella to keep his shaggy whiskers dry.

Borders Finally Announces Release Plans

Borders Group Inc put out a press release today announcing their store plans for the Book V release. All Borders stores will be open past 12am with some great plans - Herbology lessons in Indiana, Diagon Alley in Missouri and the Great Hall in Massachusetts.

According to the National Post, Canadian mathematician Dr. Ivar Ekeland blames Harry Potter, at least in part, for the decline in children's interest in the sciences.
