A report from the Bloomberg.co.uk website states that "Bloomsbury Publishing Plc said it hopes to publish Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth book of the series on the boy wizard, in July. Bloomsbury will agree on a release date with other publishers, which include Scholastic Corp.Continued...

This is, again, not confirmation, but Cindy points out that Gary Oldman has been added to the Hollywood Stock Exchange as Sirius in PoA. Everyone and their mamas are confirming this thing, so how about we get an official yay or nay, you movie folk?

UKHarryPotter reports that an official notice has been sent to bookstores stating the book will be available between February and May of this year. We would love if this were true but a few things point opposite ways:

  • We have not yet heard from Bloomsbury. Getting anyone's hopes up this way would be very irresponsibleContinued...

Thanks Danica, for letting us know that Ian Brown's PR rep told Britain's Channel 4 teletext music service (Planet Sound) that although he has been considering film roles and soundtracks, he will not be acting in PoA.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Gary Oldman is in talks about playing Sirius Black. The article also says that production on the movie begins on February 17, 2003.

Composer John Williams has been nominated for two Grammy Awards for his work on the soundtrack of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: "Best Score Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media" and "Best Instrumental Composition (Hedwig's Theme)."
