Matthew Lewis has been an actor since he was five years old, when he became a member of an amateur dramatics club. He appeared in several television series in the UK, including Heartbeat, City Central, Where the Heart Is, Emmerdale, Dalziel and Pascoe and Some Kind of Life. A Harry Potter fan from the time he first read Philosopher's Stone, Matthew won the role of Neville Longbottom after reporting to an open casting call in his hometown. Appearing in all five of the Harry Potter films to date, he will return again to the role for Half-Blood Prince. Matt enjoys reading and writing short stories, listening to music (favorite bands include Green Day, The Strokes, The Killers and Velvet Revolver), computer games and golf. He is an avid supporter of Leeds United Football team. Matthew is a former member of the Air Cadets, and expressed an interest in joining the RAF, although he has recently developed an interest in film making. Matthew has two older brothers.
