James and Oliver Phelps were born thirteen minutes apart (Oliver, who plays George, is the elder of the two). The twins have been interested in acting from an early age, and performed side by side in several high school drama productions at Sutton Coldfield's Arthur Terry School. In 2000, after attending open auditions in Leeds, James and Oliver were chosen to play Fred and George Weasley in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's (Philosopher's) Stone. They have repeated the roles in each of the four subsequent Harry Potter films, and are will appear in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The Phelps twins are natural brunettes: their hair is dyed red for the Harry Potter films.
