Daniel Radcliffe was first considered for the role of The Boy Who Lived when he was spotted by producer David Heyman while attending a theater performance. He has since appeared in all Potter films to date and has signed to appear in the remaining movies, with Half-Blood Prince set for release July 17, 2009. Dan will appear in both films of book seven, with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One to be released November 19, 2010, and Part Two due July 15, 2011.
Earlier in his career, Daniel appeared in the Pierce Brosnan movie released in 2001 called The Tailor of Panama, which also co- starred later fellow Potter actor Brendan Gleeson (Mad Eye Moody). Daniel also was seen in the 1999 hit UK television film David Copperfield that stared Dame Maggie Smith, who has gone on to portray Professor McGonagall in all of the Harry Potter films. With an interest in projects outside Potter, Daniel recently took on the role of a young orphan boy in the recently released film December Boys, as well as a new television movie called "My Boy Jack." In addition, Daniel appeared on the British stage in a production of "Equus," and reprised his role here in the US in the Broadway production of the play which ran until February of 2009. In his free time, Daniel enjoys music and films, and is an avid supporter of Demelza House children's charity hospice. Daniel resides in London with his parents.
