Bonnie Wright: Ginny is a "Tough Cookie" and Would've Been Fine Without Harry

Bonnie Wright has commented on J. K. Rowling's recent revelation that she regrets pairing Ron and Hermione together, and that Hermione may have been better suited with Harry:

Interestingly, Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny in the films, thinks her character would have coped. “Ginny is a tough cookie so she’d have been fine,” she assured me at InStyle’s Bafta party at Dartmouth House. “She dated Dean Thomas before Harry, after all.” Wright says she understands how Rowling could have changed her mind over time.

Ginny dated other people on Hermione’s advice, it was part of her becoming more relaxed around Harry and actually led to him noticing her properly and realising he was very attracted to her. Ginny probably would have coped without Harry but inevitably it would have changed her, and of course now we’ve seen the whole conversation we know that Hermione was not actually going to end up with Harry, Jo and Emma were just discussing various ideas and options, concluding that Ron and Hermione did really belong together as her seriousness and his sense of humour balanced one another out.

Guess That Book

"But surely you have noticed that Potter is very like his father?"[br]"Yes, I have," said Sirius proudly.[br]"Well then, you'll know he's so arrogant that criticism simply bounces off him," Snape said sleekly.
