Radcliffe and Rowling on the Harry Potter Generation: "Deathly Hallows: Part 2" Blu-Ray Special Feature

MTV have released another clip from the upcoming Blu-Ray DVD of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" in which J.K. Rowling and Daniel Radcliffe talk about the Harry Potter generation in contrast with other phenomenon. The clip, which is region locked for everyone outside of the US, can be seen here on the MTV website or below.
To a certain level, because [the characters in the books] exist in the collected consciousness of a generation, they do exist. I always think that's one of the wonderful things about Potter and the Potter fanbase. If you think about the other big costume-wearing and that kind of stuff that goes
with it, things like Star Wars and Star Trek, but with it's Potter, because
it started off as a literary thing, has created a generation of the
same kind of mentality of geeky thoroughness with an appetite for reading and literature,
which is kind of amazing.
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling's extremely accurate response is, "It was wonderful, wasn't it? It was just the most wonderful thing". The Blu-Ray will be released on the 11th November in the US.
It’s not about US fans vs UK at all, not for me, it’s about WB and their decisions, I’m happy for those in the US that they will get the film on DVD in November, but I think we should be getting it here in the UK very soon after if not on the same date, so I’m very disappointed.
@LinaHP That is VERY rude!
WHOO! Daniel and Jo, now that’s what I want to see! It’s way more interesting listening to their conversation then an interview! =)
I can’t watch it either!!!=’(
Aww I can’t watch it…
Whoa – just guessing – but maybe a bigger market base for sales here in the U.S. and nothing to do with anything else.
i saw this already and i loved it. i also love how i get the dvd a month before britain does :]. i might get the huge box set…idk yet :D
Pretty disappointing to still have things region locked. sigh lets not get into fans vs fans though… it’s companies. Very frustrating though that there are clips etc that I and many others can’t watch because of the countries we live in.
There’s a brief clip from the conversation here, together with a transcript of some of the discussion:
MTV is MTV. You guys aren’t used to their stupidity by now??!
BTW, several BRITISH talk show interviews with the HP cast while they were promoting DH 2 couldn’t play outside of Britain this past summer. Just saying.
Who are MTV anyway? They seem to get the rights to a lot of HP stuff.
coming from someone whos british i think its disgusting that people are insulting the American fans just because they get the DVD first, i understand that its a british film and Potter started with us but at the end of the day its very trivial, for once cant fans just be fans and not follow the ‘star wars’ route and attack each other constantly.
But people gloating theyre getting it a month before anyone else arent really helping. lol. anyway to the actual clip, does anyone think that its going to be more daniel blabbing and Jo nodding her head through the whole thing. I dont really understand what hes saying.
it’s too bad i can’t watch the clip, I really wanna listen to what they were saying :( uh well just gotta wait for it when it comes out I guess
Does anyone here remember when they made us wait an extra 6 months to watch a movie? The corporations who own this stuff are not concerned with what we like… just what we are willing to put up with, and shell out our money for!
