What a wonderful, versatile character actor! I loved Mr. Broadbent as W. S. Gilbert in ‘Topsy-Turvy,’ as Frederick in ‘Enchanted April,’ as Fenoglio in ‘Inkheart,’ even in tiny roles like Sam’s mother’s plastic surgeon in ‘Brazil.’ Many happy returns, Jim, and I hope we’ll see you in many more wonderful roles to come!
