A new deleted scene set to be included among the bonus features of the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" BluRay DVD set has been released online and shows a very tender and touching scene between Harry (Dan Radcliffe) and Aunt Petunia (Fiona Shaw). The clip, which runs approximately one minute long, takes place at the now empty Privet Drive home of the Dursleys before they must flee from Death Eaters. Does anyone know what the difference is between the blu ray tripple play version and the limited edition blu ray? thanks

This would have been great in the movie, and the addition of Dudley and Harry’s handshake would have been even better! Such a great scene.

I wish they’d left Dudley’s goodbye to Harry in the film, like this clip, it would have shown a whole new side to the Dursleys
Once again, we have another inexplicable deleted scene. The producers insistence on only concentrating on the trio continues to adversely affect the movies. A terrible decision to leave this out.

ealywish they would have left that in. It shows a softer side of aunt Petunia and though she was hard on Harry all those years she still loved her family. Even if some of them were not Muggles.

Petunia did not want to speak to Harry, there is a moment when she looks as if she will speak then she turns and leaves. Jo has commented on the scene in the book, can’t remember exactly what she said, but it was about how Petunia just could not bring herself to say anything, so if they’d left this scene in it would have softened Petunia’s character which would have been contrary to how she really was. I’ll have to look for what Jo said.

Usually I prefer scenes in the movies to be as close as possible to the book, but in this case I wish they had kept this scene in. Movies don’t have an omniscient narrator, so sometimes characters have to say things aloud rather than just think them, or the viewer has to do too much guessing.

This and the farewell with Dudly should have been in the movie.

I don’t agree that this shows anything other than a still-guarded Aunt Petunia, giving a large insight into why she has been a bitter woman for so many years. I don’t think that there is an ounce of affection there. Was the scene needed, who knows, but with HP movies…more is better!

Hey I saw this clip a couple of days ago. Soooo cooool and pretty important as well as it finally shows a different side to Petunia Dursley. Wish it had’ve been in the movie.

This is a brilliant scene, and although I understand why they cut it out, I’m happy it can be added as an after thought for fans’ enjoyment! She is such a brilliant actress, like you all said on Pottercast. It’s too bad her talent couldn’t be showcased like this in the films more often. Awesome!
