Variety is reporting that actor Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) has been cast in a new film "The Amateur Photographer," an "indie comedy" based on the book by Christopher Monger. The paper notes:
The 1970-set tale follows a young man who discovers his artistic calling after being drafted by the denizens of a sleepy little New England mill town to serve as photographer of their most intimate moments. He battles local authorities while bringing a bit of a velvet revolution to the community. Ted Hope and Anne Carey will produce through their This Is That Prods. banner, while Karen Montgomery will also produce.
As readers will recall, Radcliffe is about to take the Broadway stage once again in the revival of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" next month, and recently wrapped production on the remake of the classic thriller "The Woman in Black."

I hope that they shoot it in a genuine New England mill town – goodness knows that anyplace in the Rust Belt of the Northeast US could use the boost to the local economy that a movie production brings.
I also hope that the art director does justice to evoking the look and feel of the early ’70s. Too many Hollywood movies have tried, and ended up making the highwater mark of the counterculture era look like a stupid cartoon.

I don’t know this story, however I’m very glad to know about it.
Is there a release date yet, for The Woman In Black, or is it still in post production?
