David Heyman: BAFTA Award "Unexpected and a Treat"
February 10, 2011, 01:18 PM
"Harry Potter" producer David Heyman has given a video interview to the BBC just days before he and author J.K. Rowling are due to be presented with the award for Outstanding Contribution to British Cinema.
The organizers for the BAFTA Film Awards announced last week that the "Harry Potter" film franchise will be presented with this honorary award during Sunday's ceremony in London.
In his interview with the BBC, Mr. Heyman spoke about receiving this recognition from BAFTA and the various contributions the franchise has made towards the British film industry. On a more personal note, he says, "Harry Potter has been unique, and I'm sure I'll never be part of something like this again."
The rest of Mr. Heyman's interview can be seen here.
Very nice interview. He deserves the award.
Everybody involved in the films deserved that award. Re-watching the films lately, I kept thinking, why have the films not won before?
Everyone who even played the smallest role in the films deserves the award! They are amazing!!!!!
Mr. Heyman is correct he nor anyone else will have this kind of opportunity again. Seems that they are combining books in a series now to produce one film. We are just happy that the HP series was done properly. And why have the films not received more awards for scenes, wardrobe, acting, screen writing, music – original score, directing and CGI?
This is so great!
Congradulations!!! :D Excellent job, you definitely deserve it! :)
Too bad they couldnt do the story any justice in the movies. Reasonw hy films didnt win before was because they didnt have the selling machine needed n the industry to win. Look at LOTR.
The story has been done justice.
I think they did a much better job in this last film than they did in the past two films HPOOP and HPHBP. It had more of the essence of the books. I wish they had done all of the films in parts like this one so that they could include more of the book in the movie and therefore have more of the essence of the movie. I feel they’ve worked hard on producing the movies and I look forward to the remake of Hp. I hope that whoever does the remake will have already read the books and is aware of the spirit of the movie. I definitely hope that they pay more attention to the fact that Dumbledore dressed nicely (as in the first two movies). When the new Dumbledore came the wardrobe became awful. He didn’t wear the clothes, the clothes wore him. They looked like night clothes of a dull gray shade. They sagged, and drooped so much on him that one wouldn’t have been surprised if he tripped in it. He wore that type of clothing all the time, even to the Yule ball. Hermione’s Yule ball outfit as well as the others were great.
Well deserved Congratulations
He deserves an award!
the HP movies were done incredibly faithfully! I think a few people need to climb of their high horse and think of how differently things could have played out. Of course they’re not as good as the books but they’re great movies and of a much higher standard than others of their ilk. Fans need to be more grateful to this team, they did a stunning job and we owe them alot, they didn’t need to be as reverential and respectful to Jo as they were. And for that I thank them. Besides they haven’t ruined the books, the stories are still there, sat on your shelf and that won’t change
Jo is a great writer and they did deserve to be as reverent and respectful as they were. And if they hadn’t they would’ve been kicked to the curve like all the other people who tried to produce her books to their liking. Thank you Jo for that way of being otherwise the movies would not have been even half as interesting as they were.
Congradulations to David Heyman, and to JK Rowling!!! with out her, the creation of Harry Potter we would not have had those moments in time!!!!
congrats he deserves !!!!
