Be sure to catch THE SCORPIO RACES, the book that Seventeen.com called "A wonderful combination of Harry Potter and The Hunger Games that you won't ever want to end."
Written by bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater of SHIVER and FOREVER, THE SCORPIO RACES tells the magical adventure of the most dangerous race in the world where both love and life meet their greatest obstacles, and only the strong of heart can survive.
Entertainment Weekly raves: "In the impossibly thrilling...beautifully executed drama, Stiefvater has established herself as one of the finest YA novelists writing today."
And The New York Times Book Review declares: "Stiefvater, most recognized for her Shiver werewolf romances, not only steps out of the young adult fantasy box with The Scorpio Races but crushes it with pounding hooves... if The Scorpio Races sounds like nothing you’ve ever read, that’s because it is... [Stiefvater has] written a complex literary thriller that pumps new blood into a genre suffering from post-Twilight burnout."

Yeah, I’m a little shocked to see posts about this here. I agree with the above sentiments, just because seventeen.com compared it to HP doesn’t mean this belongs here. And leaky knows that.

I hope someone from Leaky is reading these comments. And listening. I personally don’t mind a comparison like “if you like Harry Potter, you’ll like this” or a reviewer saying “it has great characters, reminiscent of Harry Potter” but if a book says “this is the next Harry Potter” or “even better than Harry Potter” I get pretty angry.

I think people are missing the point here. the issue here isn’t really about something being said to be as good as HP, but about the fact that leaky accepted money to post this. Like I said before, it doesn’t belong here because of that, but leaky’s clearly highlighting the comparison to make it seem like this is a legit thing to post. Obviously the HP sites are changing, getting less traffic probably now because theres not much going on. But instead if doing this, why doesn’t leaky just streamline it’s overly busy and bogged down site? There are areas of this site that have run their course, shut them down. I’d rather that than getting told to buy something, especially when then the ad is presented as a news post.

Agree 100% with Libby. These may very well be good books, but I mistrust anything that claims to be “like Harry Potter”. I also think that it is deceitful on Leaky’s part to treat an advertisement as though it is a regular post. Shame on you, Leaky!
