Winners of Lockhart Excerpt Contest Announced

Our Contest Team invited you to take part in their Lockhart Excerpt Contest over the month of August, which asked you to write an excerpt you'd find in one of Gilderoy Lockhart's seven books. After receiving many wonderful and original entries, the judges have now selected winners as follows:

1st Place: Malfoy Diva - Holidays with Hags
2nd Place: mgouda - Voyages with Vampires
3rd Place: Lori A. - Year with the Yeti
Honorable Mention: AlwaysME - Year with the Yeti

Clicking the winners' usernames will take you to their winning entries at the Leaky Lounge. The first place winner will receive a handcrafted wand donated by Wizard Wood Wands and 200 MyLeaky points. Congratulations to the winners and everyone else who entered!

they are totally amazing.. they all sound exactly like what lockhart would write.. by continuing to say his favorite color is lilac and commenting on his many achievements! congrats!!!

These are all fantastic!! They really capture Lockhart’s narcissistic spirit, and I love how three of them mention lilac. Great job to all!

Congrats to all writers! Everyone captured Lockheart’s ridiculous egotism, and Malfoy Diva acheived it in the most clever of ways. I laughed out loud at her last few paragraphs! Well done.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments! I am so excited, I have been trying to get my hands on the wand prize for two years! As for my competitors you guys were GREAT! Your entries made me laugh so hard I too loved the lilac furred yeti, as well as the yeti that got zapped with a head cold (genius), and mgouda’s line about “valued as a nightime snack” was priceless. Great job everyone!!!
