There are now only 91 days left until "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here's today's quote!
"Of course, Voldemort would have considered the ways of house-elves far beneath his notice, just like all the purebloods who treat them like animals. . . . It would never have occurred to him that they might have magic that he didn't."
-Hermione Granger
-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, "Kreacher's Tale"

It sometimes occurs that Hermione says something in the lines of Dumbledore’s wisdom. Of course, she is always book-smart, but there are occasions when she goes beyond this and speaks like a very experienced, wise adult.
It is in the case of the house elves when she also shows her passionate, revolutionary and determined side. And it’s not her cleverness that I like most about her, for she can sometimes be too narrow-minded and enclosed in the realm of the written world. No, this, SPEW, is probably my favourite side of her.

Go on Hermione!! Love her, perfect Hermy quote, wonder how Ron and Hermione will get round to kissin in DH seeing as the SPEW subplot was never introduced in the movies

Hello ALL!! Yes!! this was definately one of my favorite quotes!!!!
I would like to see a more romantic scene between Harry & Ginny, because in the last Movie it must have only lasted 2 seconds, and it did not happen where it was suppose to happen, which was suppose to be the Gryffindore Common Room in front of everybody!!!! I was truly dissapointed at that scene and really felt that they did it an injustice, I hope they do better this time, and that we get to see the first kiss between Ron and Hermione!!! lol

I absolutely love this quote and I love Voldemort’s character because he is basically every tyrant, every dictator, every bully on the playground who thinks that because he found out something his small group of loyal followers didn’t know, that automatically means that nobody else knows about it. And his character is almost predictable, but in the sense that he is so open-minded about the future that his hindsight is completely closed; He just doesn’t learn from his mistakes. I think JKR really hit it big with Voldemort because she has done something that I think no one else could have done, and that is to take people like Fidel Castro and Hitler and all the slave owners in American history, or around the world for that matter, and every single person who thought that just because somebody does something different (religion and culture in general) means that you are different, and she sort of melted them all together to make one person who is so narrow-minded and turns a blind eye to all the injustice he has created to try and rise to power that he has created not only Harry as his biggest enemy but he has created his own opponent’s army of people like Mrs. Weasley who has lost brothers to Voldemort and Sirius Black and Remus Lupin who lost their best friends that want to fight against him.

Looks like Yeates has done it again! From clips and info released about DH part 1, we can see that this is another movie not from the book!! Strike 1: Scene with Harry, Hermione and Ron running thru the woods trying to escape the snatchers. Did Not Happen! Strike 2: a horcrux killed in water. Did Not Happen!! Strike 3: Hedwig released when the Seven Harrys leave Privett Drive, Did Not Happen!! Three Strikes and you’re out!! I really couldn’t care less if this movie is ever released!! I will not waste my limited cash to see a pale spectre of a very good book. I blame Jo Rowling as much as Yates because his excuse is “This is approved by Jo.”. If you are going to make a movie from a book, I expect to see more of the book than the just title and character names!! Chris Colombus did an excellent job with the first two movies. Movies 3 and 4, while not as tight to the respective books, were good efforts. Nothing Yates has made has come anywhere close!! I’m surprised that WB hasn’t announced HP9 to start filming in 2011 since HP fans with more money than good sense will will do a $1 billion box office for anything with the Harry Potter name on it!!
Ahh…love this quote.
