Leaky's Daily Quotedown to Deathly Hallows: 100 Days

DH Film

As of midnight tonight in the UK, there are 100 days left until "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here's today's quote!
"I have been careless, and so have been thwarted by luck and chance, those wreckers of all but the best-laid plans.  But I know better now.  I understand those things that I did not understand before.  I must be the one to kill Harry Potter, and I shall be."
-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, "The Dark Lord Ascending"

I love this quote for its foreboding, and for the way it sets up Voldemort’s grand delusions about the world he thinks he lives in. Great choice Edward :)

Voldemort, that arrogant and proud dolt… that’s what I think of every time I read this part… Yes, harry had help most of the times, but how can he not see that Harry’s loyalty and bravery come to rescue him…
But… if he could see, he wouldn’t be Voldemort anymore, would he?!

I Love this idea… really!

This quote shows how twisted Voldemort’s mind has become. He really did not “have to” kill anyone, he chose to do so. It is ironic because he really didn’t “know” truth, justice, or love. It is a great choice of a quote!
