With that baby face he’ll still get carded for a while yet! It’s tough to imagine what it must be like to be just turning 21 and knowing (having known for years already, in fact) that you never HAVE to work another day in your life. That knowledge has ruined many a promising young performer who got sucked into the shallow, self-indulgent celebrity life of unlimited wealth and privilege and lack of accountability. But he does come off as a down-to-Earth guy with a genuine love for his craft and some sense of humility that he has much yet to learn about it. So I think we can expect to see much more work from him, along with a steady increase in quality of output as he digests all the lessons that he has the good fortune to be getting from older and wiser practitioners of the art of acting. He seems to understand how lucky he really is, and to want to make the most of it (and not just snort the most coke or drive the hottest car or be seen with the trendiest supermodel). It’s especially promising that he wants to work on the stage so much – not just do movies. What I’d like to hear next is not so much what acting project he’s working on as what will be the priorities of the charitable foundation that he really ought to be setting up by now, with all that money that he’s made!
