Padma Patil Actress' Family Charged with Assault

The father and brother of Afshan Azad appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 29th June charged with threatening and assaulting the Padma Patil actress. BBC News states that 54-year-old Abdul Azad and 28-year-old son Ashraf Azad, have both been accused of threatening to kill Afshan at her home in Longsight, Manchester. Ashraf has also been charged for allegedly assaulting his sister.
The case was adjourned for committal proceedings and will continue on the 12th of July at Manchester Crown Court.

I I am so sad to hear this and hope and pray tht Allah will send the angels to guide and protect her. Perhaps she will get a restraining order against them if they refuse to see right. There isn’t anywhere in our Holy Quran that says tht we should harm our children if we feel tht they aren’t “living right”. This is terrible and upsets me to think tht she has to live in such fear. she is such a wonderful actor and I don’t see why anyone would want to harm her. May Allah protect her.

This is so wrong. Sadly, in some cultures, women are second class citizens. I hope these two men will be prosecuted and I pray for her safety and well being.
