New Video of Inside the Forbidden Journey Ride Wizarding World of Harry Potter
April 08, 2010, 11:50 PM
A new video of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is online tonight, featuring a brief walk thorough of some of the many areas created for the Forbidden Journey ride at theme park. Of focus are the portraits of the four founders of Hogwarts, Professor Dumbledore's office, and the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. We also get a quick glimpse of the Quidditch experience, as well as a rundown of the story line for the Forbidden Journey ride. Watch on the Wizarding World of Harry Potter site, or below:
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will have its grand opening at Universal Orlando Resort on June 18, 2010.
That looks amazing! When will the Wizarding World actually open! I’m getting excited by the second!
This looks amazing! I can’t wait to really experience Hogwarts. Also, getting Binns as a teacher is genius, but probably very boring for the students…
omg i seriously can not wait !!!!!!!!!!!
want to goo noww !!! :)
drools I want to go!!!
It looks great! Except….. Binns didn’t teach DADA!
We booked a stay! After that I am soooooo glad we are going! but I never knew Professor Binns taught Defense Against The Dark Arts…………..
i want to go now! no- i need to go now!
I have to be there opening day. It is completely necessary!! :D
Looks great! :) I had no idea the ride would tour the classrooms, etc. Very cool. And, like many others said, at first I was taken aback by Prof Binns teaching DADA. I thought maybe they goofed and just didn’t bother to make it consistent with the books. BUT, after I thought about it, it is actually a clever and story consistent choice. The DADA position is cursed, and someone can only hold it for one year. If we assume that the curse applies only to live beings, then Prof Binns would not be subject to the curse. Therefore, it would be plausible to have him teaching DADA for eternity! Also, as another suggested, he could simply be subbing for the day. :)
Binns isn’t teaching DADA, he’s just using the classroom. We can assume, for story purposes, that perhaps a dungbomb, portable swamp, or other assorted magical treachery had been released in the History of Magic classroom, making it less than comfortable to hold a lecture in. Binns is just using the DADA room to give his lecture on the history of the school since his own is unusable.
On a more practical note, we never see the History of Magic classroom in the movies, and the DADA classroom from the movies is quite iconic; so it makes for a better choice of room to use in the ride, since they are basing it off of the movies.
On a somewhat unrelated note, does anyone know if the music in this was some that was made for the ride/park? I really hope they release a soundtrack of the attraction’s score that John Williams “oversaw” for the ride; whatever “oversaw” means.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!! looks like the trio gona b a part of it (if only in videos) sooooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!! _
