Variety is reporting that ABC Family will air "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" in late 2011. Ken Werner of Warner Bros. is quoted in the article, saying, "[feature] films are an integral part of the formula for a successful cable service, and ABC Family has created a terrific destination where Warner Bros. movies have thrived."  ABC Family holds the rights to the first six Harry Potter films, as well as to a number of newer films, including "The Blind Side" and  "Alice in Wonderland," which will be aired in 2012. "Alice in Wonderland" stars a number of Harry Potter actors including Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) and the narrator of the British Harry Potter audiobooks, Stephen Fry.

Great, but late 2011 is still a very long time away though. We’d be able to see both parts of Deathly Hallows by then!
I’d definitely still watch it on TV!

Oh really? Cool! I have all the movies, but it’s just so exciting when they put them on TV. It’s like a confirmation that the rest of the world cares about our obsession! Haha.

The Marketing, Scheduling, Advertising, Advising, and pretty every team at ABC needs to be fired for waiting soooo long to put a movie on TV that would be over 2 years since it’s release. It’s one thing if it’s a crappy movie like The Tooth Fairy (with Dwayne Johnson), but this is Harry Potter, the most successful franchise ever- people WANT to see this as much as possible.

Late 2011 is TOOOO LONG! I guess I’m not surprised though, since they just played Order of the Phoenix for the first time a few months ago.
