Some remarkable new aerial photos of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park have made their way online via Orlando United, which show a birds-eye sneak peek at the sprawling attraction. The photos, over sixty in all, come courtesy of a recent helicopter tour over the Islands of Adventure which was able to capture images of the castle, streets of Hogsmeade, Hagrid's Hut, more of the roller coaster rides in the park, the store fronts, as well as the continued construction at the site. The full series of photos can be found right here.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park is set to open at Universal Orlando this spring.

Looking at the pictures, I find something curious: Most of WWoHP looks like all it needs is a good sweep-up and a stocking of the shelves and they’d be ready to welcome guests next week; however, some of the buildings are stil in the framing stage. How close are they to completing those structures? I want to visit ASAP, but it’s hard to gauge when the opening will be by what I see.

Yes, as Jordan Edwards reminds us, Stuart Craig & co. have cleverly designed the castle with forced perspective to make it LOOK, from the ground, like it is “ginormous,” and the PR keeps reinforcing that thought. What’s the harm? We will be inside — yes, the huge tan building — and will be walking through the Gryffindor Common Room, The Great Hall, etc., and will never be aware of what the exterior of the building is like. It will still be great fun, and we can marvel at the physical wizardry that created these illusions, just like we all marvel at Jo’s literary wizardry, even as we know that she invented it all. Loses none of its magic for me!
That is amazing! Graduation gift, here I come!
