Our Contest Team have just announced their newest contest for the month of February, the Illustrated Scene Contest. This month's contest asks you to illustrate a scene from the Harry Potter series that you find particularly moving. The entries will be judged on how you managed to evoke that way that scene made you feel through the illustration. The entry can be in any medium apart from photography and only one entry is permitted per person. Entries must be in .jpg, .png or .gif format and the maximum file size is 1 MB. Anyone 13 years of age and over who is not involved in the judging process is welcome to enter and please bear in mind that all entries must meet the PG-13 rating.

The first place winner will receive a custom made wand donated by Wizard Wood Wands and 200 MyLeaky points. Maybe I’ll try this… I’m not too artistic, but it might be fun!

@Professor Witchard: Some people would say it’s a good thing not being able to draw a perfectly good circle. It means you’re not crazy (at least according to my German teacher :)

Anyway, I’m definitely entering this, despite severe lack of any artistic talent. I have some old illustrated scenes from a few years back which I might work on some more.

Oh I really, really want to do this but I’m out of equipment and it’ll take a while for stuff to come :( Out of stock! I might have to resort to pen or something, but I’m rubbish at that. Oh well, I’ll still give it a go.

I look forward to seeing the prizewinners for this, I also think it would be really good to see all the entries if that was possible. I’d love to have a go myself, but never having tried to do any fan art, and having seen some wonderful pictures I don’t know if I could be up to standard.

Guess That Book

"I doubt whether any Hogwarts students ever found out more about the Hogwarts grounds and Hogsmeade than we did... And that's how we came to write the Marauder's Map, and sign it with our nicknames. Sirius is Padfoot. Peter is Wormtail. James was Prongs."
