WB Places a "For Your Consideration" Ad For "DH: Part 1" For Best Cinematography

With the awards season approaching, Warner Bros. has put out a "For Your Consideration" ad in American Cinematographer, which you can see here in our Image Galleries. This ad acknowledges Eduardo Serra, the cinematographer for "Deathly Hallows: Part 1," and recommends him and the movie for the award of Best Cinematography. Serra has previously been nominated for Academy Awards for his work on "The Wings of the Dove" and "Girl With a Pearl Earring."

What a cool-looking ad! Would have made a great movie poster.

Agree Bandersnatch but is this the only Oscar consideration? Is WB waiting until DH2 to put more bids in for consideration Just asking.

I’m guessing since the ad was run in American Cinematographer, it’s demographic-specific. So I think we can hold out hope that they’re pushing it for other awards. Desplat’s score is worthy of at least a nomination, so that’s another category they’ll try to advertise for, I hope.

I don’t think this film’s score would be the one to nominate, it was probably the worst of all of the films. The cinematography was at least different in this film, warranting a 2nd look by judges.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on the score (I think it’s fantastic), but the cinematography definitely deserves a second look. It was stunning.
