They NEVER give 5 stars to anything!! I think it´s someone really old who just hates it!! I think a HP fan should rate it, or Jo herself, that way you really get to know what it´s like! The people who rate it doesn´t know a thing about it!

Some of these reviewers seem not to get what the series is all about.

I can’t read any of the reviews! I don’t want it to impact my opinion of the movie! Just reading the titles and how could the Guardian only give it 2/5??!!

We live in a time where the review, in many cases, takes on more importance than the film being critiqued. It is an opportunity for the reviewer to grind an axe, to push an agenda. The Guardian review is an example of this. There is no attempt to offer any kind of objective point of view. No attempt at properly informing the readers. It is an example of how not to write a review.
To suggest these films will be forgotten, as the reviewer does, is ludicrous and shows an absolute unwillingness to recognize the overall phenomenon that Harry Potter is. We have created these reviews in a sense, by our hyperbol reaction to these films. We jump on anything extreme; good or bad. This guy knows fans will eventually read his words and he will have his 15mins of fame and that is exactly what he wants. But, as I said in my first comment, it is he, not the films, which will be forgotten soon. His words proven the inferior, not the films. His words proven the lessor by the films being beloved decades later, inspite of his opinion. Because really, the only thing he knows about, speaks with any authority on, is his own opinion. It does not represent my opinion, or anyone elses opinion. It is just his little ole opinion.

These reviewers are totally biased and do not understand the essense of Harry Potter. With unrelated insults such as lack of warmth, it displays a stupid critic for the books have no warmth in them. Great job Yates, no matter what the critics say!

Sorry but I use to guide myself from The Guardian and also from Premiere, but must confess that The Guardian Review to this movie was really bad, does that guy even saw the movie? Or does he like Harry Potter books? That’s very odd, that a critics like the Guardian publish what looked like a personal criticism to a worldwide movie!!

I just saw “SAW 3D” and loved it….it got one star…..the critics ratings mean nothing…..as fans we are even psyched over the trailers and clips….rock on Potter.

I remember when Troy came out, it got awful reviews, but earnt so much money, and was so popular with audiences! most reviews are simply made to get attention, or to point out perhaps one part of a movie that the critic views as a negative without exploring why it was done that way, and what the reasons were for it, and whether it was the right decision! often critics are extremely wrong, harsh or narrow minded :(
agree with crikeyhunter here, so true!
http://platform-online.net/2010/11/review-harry-potter-and-the-deathly-hallows-part-one/ – Here is a review from a Leaky staffer (myself), just to counteract the terrible Guardian reviews. If i was giving it a star rating, it would be 5 stars!!!

Jrg1990-I loved the review!
Film critics can be fair or otherwise biased. With people like Roger Ebert and James Berardinelli. They’re fair. It’s the idiots and quote-wh*res that should be avoided. People like Pete Hammond, Ben Lyons, Jeffrey Lyons, and Shawn Edwards. Even if they praise the film. They’re only doing it to get their names in the papers.
Then there’s Armond White. He is pretty much the worst critic out there. He may claim to be intelligent but his reviews are completely idiotic with the intellectual mumbo-jumbo he creates. He’s a contrarian. Never read a review from him. He’s likely to pan this film along with every Harry Potter film. Don’t take anything he says seriously. He’s just a moron.
