The mighty Auror has fallen and his journey in the magical world is now complete. This word comes as actor Brendan Gleeson has announced he has finished his role as legendary Auror Mad-Eye Moody in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Noting that he completed filming less than two weeks ago, the Hollywood Reporter cites "Gleeson noted he just wrapped filming "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" and bid farewell to his Mad-Eye Moody. "I waved goodbye to him a week and a half ago. It was great fun, playing Mad-Eye was a hoot."

Actor Brendan Gleeson made these remarks in the press room last night as he was celebrating his win at the Emmys  as "Best Actor in a Mini-series" for his role as Winston Churchill in the HBO special "Into the Storm." You can see photos of the actor at the Emmy Awards here from Getty. Congratulations Brendan Gleeson!

I still struggle to grasp my mind around the fact that we are soon approaching the end of this saga of films. Thank you, Brendan Gleeson, for giving us a wonderful Moody; you translated the character perfectly into cinematic form. Congratulations, sir, on the Emmy you have obtained.

Awww, he’s just so great, i hate the reminder of his death just lingering. This movie is going to make me cry so much, the book was bad enough… what if they make all the deaths really epic and extra cry worthy? Don’t forget the box of tissues for all those people who are just like me…

Oh man, on one hand, it’s really exciting to think about the movie coming along. But on the other, I’m sort of sad, knowing what this moons. D:

I was so happy for his Emmy last night… he was one of the only people that I actually was rooting for! :) He’s a brillant actor and him as Moody has been great! I will definitely be crying during both of these films when I see these characters finally be gone. :(

I love him… such a great character. He only wanted to do what was right, to protect and serve the people he loved most. The actor is so brilliant as Mad-Eye only gave the audience his best. Thanks for completing such a amazing auror.

It’s great that he won the emmy, he’s a really good actor. I think he’s good as moody, but i don’t LOVE him in the role, then again i can’t really think of anyone that i would have preferred so oh well. i’ve preferred him in other roles i think.
it is so weird reading that they are finishing filming though like what are we going to do when all the movies are done?!

Brendan Gleeson played Mad-Eye Moody very well! It is sad to see him go both in the real world and in the HP world as his character dies.
