I’m assuming set-up shots for the kidnapping of Luna, or perhaps to show just how lonely/empty the train is without the muggle-borns. Both would add weight to the story as a whole, and would be more emotionally engaging. The idea that it could be post King’s Cross at the end of the film is also interesting, I must say. :]

it is great to see the train on film set. i was there at kings cross station when they filmed ootp. they let me onto the film set. i was too shocked to take full advantage of it. i saw the train and rode on it in york.

has anybody heard anything about who is cast as the next generation?
